Natalie Dowling, the founder of Popped, is on a mission to support new mothers during their postpartum journey. Her company, Popped, specializes in creating multipurpose birth recovery products designed to make the transition to motherhood smoother and more comfortable.

Popped’s focus is on natural, organic, reusable, and Made in the USA products for postpartum use and beyond. The company aims to provide better products that support women as they navigate the challenges of early motherhood, with the ultimate goal of making this experience more magical.

The inspiration for Popped came from Natalie’s personal experience. In 2018, she moved to a new state while pregnant with her first child. Despite thorough preparation for childbirth and newborn care, Natalie found herself unprepared for the postpartum period. The weeks following her son’s birth were difficult, marked by a lack of support, breastfeeding struggles, and health complications, including a severe infection that led to sepsis.

Natalie’s challenging postpartum experience, which included multiple hospital visits and countless trips to stores seeking suitable recovery products, left her feeling traumatized. She spent the year after her son’s birth working through various aspects of healing, both physical and emotional.

This experience led Natalie to realize the importance of preparing for postpartum recovery. When she gave birth to her second son in 2020, she was much better prepared and had a significantly more positive postpartum experience. This stark contrast inspired her to create Popped, with the aim of providing other mothers with the products and support she wished she had during her first postpartum period.

Popped’s products are designed to address the changes and challenges women face after childbirth. The company emphasizes the use of natural products and postpartum essentials, focusing on items that are not only effective but also environmentally friendly and reusable.

Natalie’s approach to business is rooted in her personal experience and guided by advice from her family. She emphasizes the importance of having a servant’s mindset when creating products, always focusing on meeting the needs of those she aims to help. This philosophy was instilled in her by her mother and sisters, who work as nurses.

The company’s main message is that healthier, more supported mothers lead to healthier, more supported societies. Popped aims to normalize discussions about postpartum changes, challenges, and discomforts, viewing this as a crucial step towards embracing, supporting, and empowering women’s health after delivery.

Popped faces challenges in gaining exposure and publicity. However, Natalie remains committed to her mission of supporting new mothers. She advises aspiring entrepreneurs to focus on taking one step at a time rather than becoming overwhelmed by the big picture.

Popped is actively working to increase its market presence. The company participated in the Prego Expo in Salt Lake City on September 7th and plans to attend Babypalooza in Franklin, Tennessee on October 5th. These events provide opportunities for Popped to meet local mothers and introduce its products to new markets.

Natalie’s business inspiration comes from her mother, a Public Health Nurse with a passion for helping those in unfortunate circumstances. This influence is evident in Popped’s mission to support mothers during a vulnerable time in their lives.

Popped maintains an online presence through various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok. The company’s website, www.thepoppedshop.com, serves as the main hub for product information and sales.

Through Popped, Natalie is working to fill a gap in the market for natural and organic postpartum recovery products. Her personal experience has driven her to create a company that not only provides practical solutions but also aims to change the conversation around postpartum care and support. As Popped continues to grow, it remains focused on its core mission: delivering moms after delivery and making motherhood more magical.
