In a market where buying or selling a home can feel overwhelming, trust is often the first thing clients look for.Kim Drees has built her real estate business in the Fort Worth area on that idea, working alongside her husband, Kris, as a full-time team. Their story did not start in real estate. Kim was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri, and married Kris in September 2002. The following year, they moved to Louisville, Kentucky, so Kris could attend Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. They had three children there, Hannah, Sam, and Lily. In 2009, the family moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma, where Kris pastored a church, and they welcomed two more children, Bella and Lydia. In September 2015, they settled in Haltom City, Texas.

For years, Kim was a stay-at-home mom, raising five kids while the family moved across several states. She started real estate as a side job in 2017, and Kris joined her full-time in April 2020. Since then, the couple has grown steadily, earning a ranking of number 57 out of 15,000 agents in the northeast region of Fort Worth.

A Business They Treat Like a Ministry

The Drees Team is a full-time husband and wife operation, and they describe it in plain terms. “We treat our business as a ministry,” they said. That language is not for show. Kris is still ordained, and over the years, he has officiated weddings for clients in their new homes. He has also officiated funerals for some of them. The couple sees their role as something that reaches past the sale, staying part of clients’ lives long after the paperwork is done. Most of their clients end up becoming friends.

Kim’s Approach to Clients

Kim is the kind of agent who does not give up easily. She is tenacious and, as she puts it, will not take no for an answer. Early on, she was mentored every day, eight hours a day, by a high-producing broker who taught her the ins and outs of the business. That training shaped how she works now. She sees herself as a teacher first, walking clients through every step so they understand what is happening and why. “We treat our clients how we want to be treated,” she said.

The Value Kris Brings

Kris adds a practical side to the team that many agents cannot offer. He is a lender, which means clients can receive first hand knowledge of the lending side of the transaction and stay current on the status. He is also a mobile notary. Beyond real estate, he is currently serving his ninth consecutive year on the BISD school board, which has kept the couple closely tied to the community they serve. That mix of roles gives clients a single team they can lean on for several parts of a move, rather than handing them off in pieces.

Helping People Sell and Buy

Most of the couple’s clients come to them for the same reason. They do not love where they live and want a better home or location. The hard part is often timing, especially when someone needs to sell before they can buy. Kim and Kris describe themselves as master negotiators and say they have seven options to help clients sell before they buy. When a client has to sell first, they work to make it a win for everyone involved, so no one feels boxed in by the order of events.

Teaching Clients to Build Wealth

In recent years, the couple has become real estate investors themselves, with a focus on short-term rentals. They have bought and sold several of their own properties and now hold investment properties as well. That experience lets them do more than handle a single transaction. They help clients read the data behind a good investment and judge an opportunity using rental comparisons. “We can educate and teach our clients how to invest,” they said.

For Kim, the ranking of number 57 out of 15,000 agents matters, but she frames it in a particular way. She and Kris built their business through relationships and prayer, and the number reflects years of steady work rather than a quick rise. In a field where it is easy to oversell, the Drees Team keeps things simple. They show up, they teach, and they stay. For clients across the Fort Worth area, that consistency is the reason many of them come back.
