The IoT & AI Robotics Gallery celebrated its grand launch on 28 June 2026 in Puchong, Selangor, welcoming hundreds of visitors to what its organisers describe as one of Southeast Asia’s first immersive technology galleries dedicated to artificial intelligence, robotics, and the Internet of Things.

The gallery is led by Dato Sri Steven Yong, in collaboration with the IoT International Association, the Artificial Intelligence Association Global, led by Dr (Hon) Francis Teo, and the Malaysia Association of Artificial Intelligence, Technology and Innovation, known as MAAITI, led by Henry Lim. According to the organisers, the launch marks a significant milestone in promoting AI awareness and technology adoption in Malaysia.

The event was honoured by the presence of its Guest of Honour, YM Tengku Putra Aliff Shah Bin Tengku Sulaiman Al-Haj, alongside the former Mayor of Cambridge and a former city councillor of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. The organisers pointed to that international presence as a reflection of the role cross-border collaboration plays in advancing future technologies.

Built around the theme “Experience the Future. The Future Is Now,” the gallery invited visitors to explore how AI, robotics, and intelligent technologies are reshaping healthcare, education, business, manufacturing, hospitality, and everyday life. Rather than a static display, the space was designed as an interactive experience, allowing guests to engage directly with the latest innovations and consider how intelligent technologies may shape the cities and lifestyles of the future.

A central highlight of the launch was the official unveiling of the IoT & AI Robotics App Ecosystem, a new digital platform that allows the public to discover AI solutions, robotics technologies, workshops, events, and technology providers across Malaysia. The organisers said the app is intended to become a gateway for businesses, students, and the wider public to stay connected with the country’s growing AI and robotics ecosystem.

According to the organisers, the grand launch welcomed 500 members of the public with complimentary admission, giving them the chance to experience the AI Robotics Gallery and an accompanying Robotics Carnival firsthand. Visitors interacted with advanced robotic technologies, explored intelligent city concepts, and gained a closer understanding of how AI is becoming part of daily life.

The launch also saw the signing of 13 Memorandums of Understanding between partners drawn from industry, technology, education, and business communities. The organisers said these partnerships reflect a shared commitment to accelerating AI adoption, robotics innovation, talent development, and technology commercialisation across Malaysia and the wider ASEAN region.

Looking ahead, the IoT & AI Robotics Gallery is intended to serve as a permanent education and innovation hub. The organisers said it will host AI and robotics workshops, technology demonstrations, and public engagement programmes, while inviting technology companies, universities, startups, and solution providers to showcase their latest work.

“Our vision is to make AI and robotics accessible to everyone. We want Malaysians to experience these technologies firsthand, understand their potential, and prepare confidently for the future,” said Dato Sri Steven Yong. “This gallery is not just about showcasing innovation. It is about building an ecosystem where education, industry, and technology come together to create new opportunities.”

The organisers also extended their appreciation to the government representatives, industry leaders, exhibitors, strategic partners, sponsors, volunteers, and members of the public whose support contributed to the launch.

As Malaysia continues its push to strengthen its position in advanced technology, the gallery says it welcomes technology providers, educational institutions, and industry partners to take part in future exhibitions, educational programmes, and collaborative initiatives. For its organisers, the broader goal extends well beyond a single opening event. It is to build a lasting space where the public can encounter emerging technologies directly, and where education, industry, and innovation can intersect as the country works toward becoming a leading AI and robotics nation.

The launch, in that sense, was positioned less as a finished achievement than as a starting point. By opening its doors to hundreds of visitors and signing partnerships across multiple sectors on its first day, the IoT & AI Robotics Gallery has set out to become a long-term fixture in Malaysia’s technology landscape rather than a one-time exhibition.
