The actress and producer is proving that great brands are born from purpose, building TSA-approved MOOR NYC into a new benchmark for luxury pet travel.
Few entrepreneurs set out to reinvent an industry they never planned to enter. Stefanie Peti did exactly that, turning a personal frustration into MOOR NYC, a luxury pet travel brand built around design, safety, and the modern traveler.
For years, Stefanie moved through airports the way many pet owners do, with her dog Mochi at her side and a problem she could not solve. The carriers and travel bags on the market were uncomfortable for the animal, poorly made, or never designed for the reality of getting through security and onto a plane. She kept looking for something better and kept coming up empty. The idea took shape in those terminals, between check-in desks and boarding gates, until she decided the product she wanted would have to come from her.
It became MOOR NYC, a New York-based lifestyle brand that designs luxury travel accessories for pets. Every bag the company makes is TSA approved and built for both cats and dogs, so an owner can move through an airport without leaving their companion’s comfort behind. The pieces carry the polish of a fashion label and the function a traveling animal needs, with breathable panels, structure that holds its shape, and room to settle in. Stefanie traveled to source the materials herself, choosing each one for how it would feel to the animal riding inside.

Her feel for travel and for people traces back to a global childhood. Stefanie holds triple nationality, Spanish, Uruguayan, and American, and grew up between Spain and Uruguay before a life that has carried her through seven countries and to nearly seventy. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and fluent in Catalan. The upbringing gave her a read on people across cultures and an ease with constant travel.
She built an art career first. Stefanie is a method actress, screenwriter, and producer who divides her time between Los Angeles and New York. She earned recognition for her leading role as FBI agent Sofia Rojas in the Amazon Prime crime drama Black Blood, with further credits across HBO’s Ballers and Minx, along with Love Sonia, Criminal Minds, and Sugar. She produced her first feature film, Malecón, in Cuba, and wrote two original screenplays, one on mental health and depression, the other on the toll of drug abuse on young people. She studied at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and earned an MFA in Producing from UCLA, then trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, the Stella Adler Academy, and the Ivana Chubbuck Studio. She joined the Actors Studio after her second audition and has been a member for five years.
Then she set out to prove she could do something different.
“I not only possess the ability to act, write movies, and produce, but I can also be a businesswoman.”
“Entrepreneurship is another form of storytelling. Creating a company requires the same discipline as creating a film: vision, resilience, and the ability to inspire people to believe in something that doesn’t yet exist.”

MOOR NYC is growing fast. The company manufactures in Hong Kong and Turkey, with a new factory in Morocco on the way, runs offices in New York City and Miami, and sells its products at moornyc.com.
The range reads like luggage designed for a person and engineered for an animal. There is the structured carrier built to slide under an airline seat, the softer weekend bag for road trips and hotel stays, and the roomy tote for the city, each one finished in the muted browns and warm neutrals that have become the brand’s signature. What unites them is the standard Stefanie set with the first sketch: comfort and safety for the animal come first, then the design and materials that match a luxury label.
Stefanie never wanted MOOR NYC to compete on price. From day one, her strategy was to position the brand where luxury fashion meets functional pet travel.
The market is paying attention. Owners are traveling with their animals more than ever and asking for gear that holds up to the trip without looking like equipment, and MOOR NYC sits squarely in that gap. Stefanie set out to treat animals better than the market does, and she designed the product to prove it.
Stefanie believes the future of luxury pet travel lies where fashion, function, and hospitality meet, and her long-term vision reaches past travel accessories toward a broader lifestyle brand for modern pet owners. Her aim is not simply to build a successful company, but to make MOOR NYC the global reference for luxury pet travel.
For Stefanie, the mission traces back to one relationship. MOOR NYC grew out of her love for Mochi and for animals, and that bond still shapes the company.
“When businesses are born from love and necessity, there’s nothing that can stop that energy.”
MOOR NYC was never about designing another pet carrier. It was about redefining how people experience life with the animals they love. Stefanie sees a premium pet market still in its early days and an opening to set the standard, one where fashion, engineering, and animal well-being coexist. If the company’s early trajectory is any indication, she is only getting started.
