Hank Marshhas spent the past several years building a real estate career across Central Texas, and the way he talks about the work says a lot about how he approaches it. Born and raised in Louisiana, he attended Louisiana Tech University before moving to Austin in 2015. It did not take long for him to feel at home. Today, he lives in Georgetown, a place he describes as a community that balances small-town charm with the energy of a growing region.
He serves clients throughout the area as Vice President of the Williamson County Division at JBGoodwin REALTORS, one of the largest independent real estate brokerages in Texas. Ask him what the business is really about, and he will tell you it has very little to do with buildings. “We like to think we’re in the business of buying and selling homes, but we’re not. Homes are simply the vehicle. The real product is trust,” he said. That belief shapes everything he does, from the way he advises a first home buyer to the way he mentors the agents on his team. For Hank, real estate is a people business that happens to involve property.
From Louisiana to Central Texas
Hank grew up in Louisiana and says he will always carry a little of it with him. New Orleans still feels like a second home, and he rarely passes up a chance to spend time in the French Quarter enjoying the food, music, and culture that helped shape who he is today.
Life in Texas has brought its own adventures. Hank and his wife enjoy exploring the Hill Country, hiking local trails, traveling, discovering new restaurants, and making the most of everything Central Texas has to offer. They are currently preparing for their biggest adventure yet as they look forward to welcoming their first child in November. Hank credits much of his success to the support and encouragement of his wife, who has been his biggest cheerleader through every stage of his career.
People who know Hank tend to describe him as approachable, competitive, and quick with a joke. Whether he’s helping clients navigate a real estate transaction or connecting with someone new, he enjoys finding common ground and building genuine relationships.
Raising the Standard
Hank believes the real estate industry often misunderstands itself. In a field where the barrier to entry is low, he thinks the standard for service, communication, education, and accountability should be high. He challenges the idea that being a real estate professional means opening doors and filling out contracts. “It means becoming a trusted advisor, a problem solver, and a steward of the trust people place in us,” he explained. He does not measure success only by the deals he closes, but by relationships, reputation, and the effect he has on the people around him.
Helping Clients Find Clarity

The clients Hank works with are usually facing one of the largest financial decisions of their lives, along with the uncertainty that comes with it. He believes all real estate is an investment, whether it is a first home, a rental portfolio, a ranch, or a commercial property. What clients want, he says, is clarity. They want to know if they are paying the right price, if the timing is right, and what risks they might be missing. They also want someone who will tell them the truth, even when it is hard to hear. Sometimes that means moving forward. Sometimes it means advising a client not to buy, not to sell, or to wait. “The ideal outcome of working with me isn’t simply completing a transaction,” he said. The goal is a decision made thoughtfully, with a clear understanding of the risks and the rewards.
Leading a Team
Today, Hank supports more than 200 real estate professionals in one of the highest-producing offices in Central Texas. Since he stepped into leadership, the agents in his division have completed more than 1,000 transactions representing nearly $200 million in sales volume. He built a strong record of his own before that. He was named a Top Producing Agent and a Top Producing Relocation Agent, ranked among the top 20 agents company-wide, and consistently earned recognition for his strong production, client service, and commitment to excellence . In 2024, he received the company’s Charting a Path Award. Still, he points to his promotion to Vice President as his proudest accomplishment, not for the title but for the chance to help others grow.
A Company Built to Help People
Much of what Hank values lines up with the company he works for. JBGoodwin has built its reputation over more than 50 years around a simple mission to help people, and it was recently recognized as a Top Workplace USA. The brokerage invests heavily in training, mentorship, and agent development, which is the part of the work Hank cares about most. His focus is on coaching agents through real challenges and building a culture of collaboration rather than competition. “My goal is always the same: leave the industry better than I found it,” he said. For Hank, that is the real measure of a career. The transactions matter, but the trust behind them matters more, and that is what he plans to keep building.
