Thirty-four Years, One Standard, and Winning for the Client

Roger William Berg has been in real estate for more than three decades, but what defines him is not just longevity. It’s resilience, reinvention, and results.

Licensed in 1992, Roger built his career through multiple market cycles, adapting as the industry evolved from paper listings to digital platforms and data-driven strategies. Over the years, he has navigated shifting interest rates, changing neighborhoods, and thousands of transactions, developing the kind of judgment that only comes from experience. Today, he holds active broker licenses in Utah, Montana, and Florida and operates his brokerage, Real Estate with Roger, out of Salt Lake City.

Most agents build a career once. Roger has had to build it more than once, and that difference shows.

A Restart That Redefined the Standard

In November 2019, Roger survived a life-altering four-day kidnapping in Mexico that involved torture, extreme conditions, and the loss of nearly everything he had built financially. After being released and warned never to return, he came back to Utah in 2020 penniless, determined to rebuild both his life and career with a completely new perspective on what truly mattered.

Starting over with no local client base, no pipeline, and no established business in Utah, Roger relaunched his real estate career from scratch. Within just ten months, he earned a place in the Salt Lake Board of Realtors® “Realtor 500,” ranking among the top 500 agents in the market. He has received that recognition multiple times since.

Most agents spend years working toward that level of production. Roger accomplished it while rebuilding his life, reputation, and business at the same time.

Why Negotiation Is the Only Thing That Matters

Roger’s philosophy is direct: Not all Realtors are Created Equal, and the difference shows up in the final numbers.

“Most people think hiring a Realtor is about putting a sign in the yard or finding homes online,” he said. “The reality is, you hire a Realtor for one reason: negotiation. That’s where deals are won or lost.”

He holds the RENE (Real Estate Negotiation Expert) certification and approaches every transaction with a strategy-first mindset. Pricing, positioning, timing, and leverage are all carefully calculated, not left to chance. Rather than following the traditional “list it and hope” model, Roger treats every deal as a competitive environment where preparation and execution determine the outcome. Roger also holds designations and certificates of ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative) and GRI (Graduate, Realtor Institute).

Cutting Through the Confusion

For most clients, the biggest challenge isn’t motivation; it’s clarity. The process is complex, the stakes are high, and uncertainty often leads to hesitation or costly mistakes.

Roger’s role is to remove that uncertainty.

“People are nervous because they don’t fully understand the market or the process,” he said. “My job is to bring clarity, so they can make the right decisions with confidence.”

Through direct communication, clear strategy, and experienced negotiation, he positions his clients to move forward with certainty, knowing they are protected and making informed choices every step of the way.

A Brand You Can’t Miss

Roger’s approach to real estate extends beyond transactions; it shows up in how he markets, operates, and builds visibility in the community.

One example is his client-focused moving van program, where buyers and sellers who work with him can use a fully equipped moving van at no cost. It’s a practical benefit that simplifies one of the most stressful parts of any move.

But the branding doesn’t stop there.

Roger has expanded his presence through a fleet of fully wrapped vehicles, including Teslas, Priuses, Golf Carts, Race Cars, and more, all featuring his image and company branding. What started as a marketing idea has become a recognizable presence throughout the Utah market. These vehicles act as rolling billboards, seen in neighborhoods, at showings, and across the community, reinforcing a level of visibility that few individual agents achieve.

That same mindset, standing out, being visible, and doing things differently, is reflected in every aspect of his business.

Building Something That Lasts

For Roger, real estate is no longer just about transactions; it’s about building something that lasts.

He is a father of three (Taylor, Cody, and Brooklyn) and is actively building a family-driven brokerage. His son Cody already works alongside him as a sales agent, and his daughter Brooklyn is preparing to enter the industry.

The long-term vision is a business that continues beyond him.

What Roger is creating is more than a brand, it’s a legacy. As he looks toward spending more time in Florida in the future, the foundation is being set for the next generation to carry it forward. Stepping back may come eventually, but stepping away entirely isn’t part of the plan.

Experience You Can’t Fake

Thirty-four years in real estate create experience. Starting over from nothing and returning to the top creates perspective.

Outside of work, he participates in exotic car rallies across the United States, competes as an amateur race car driver in his #69 Corvette, and travels with family and friends in his RV to fun, sun-filled destinations. He is direct about who he is and does not separate his personal life from the values he brings to his work.

Decades at the top in any profession will produce someone with a certain kind of depth. What makes Roger’s story different is that he has had to prove himself more than once, under circumstances most people will never face. The clients who work with him get the benefit of all of it.

Roger brings both.

And for the clients who choose to work with him, that difference is felt where it matters most, confidence in the process, strength in negotiation, and results that reflect the advantage of having the right person in your corner.
