In an industry often defined by complexity and competing priorities, Unity Preferred Network is emerging as a notable example of balance, transparency, and trust. At the front is a founder who has spent more than two decades studying what works—and what doesn’t—within provider networks across the country. After building two networks earlier in his career, he set out to create something more refined, more sustainable, and ultimately more fair.

ā€œI founded Unity Preferred Network after observing long-standing industry trends that I felt needed meaningful correction,ā€ he explains. ā€œThis is the third network I’ve built over the past 23 years, and I was determined to make this one a more refined and effective version.ā€

Rather than simply repeating past models, he carefully analyzed everything—his successes, his mistakes, and the broader industry’s missteps. What remained became the foundation for Unity: a system where every party could ideally thrive. ā€œThe goal was simple but essential: create a framework where everyone is treated fairly and can ideally achieve sustainable profitability.ā€

Inside the organization, his leadership philosophy is grounded in clarity, adaptability, and a hands-on approach. Every department—administration, sales, contracting, and beyond—operates with clear, attainable goals.

To him, leadership isn’t about staying above the fray; it’s about showing up. ā€œI’m deeply involved in every facet of the business,ā€ Pierce says. ā€œReal leadership means never being above any task.ā€ That mindset has shaped a culture defined by collaboration and shared accountability, where employees are encouraged to grow into leaders who surpass even his own capabilities.

While the healthcare network landscape evolves slowly and requires a long-term strategy, Unity pairs that with a disciplined short-term planning structure, weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals fuel daily momentum. ā€œWe celebrate early wins and create meaningful rewards for employees and partners,ā€ he says. It’s a simple system—but one that drives consistent progress toward Unity’s larger mission.

To evaluate the company’s health, the CEO, Jarred Pierce, and his team focus on one thing above all: client success. Dedicated representatives and tailored support ensure each client receives the resources and responsiveness they’ve aimed to provide. ā€œOur goal is to become the most trusted and relied-upon solution our clients use,ā€ he emphasizes. The company encourages continuous feedback, refining its internal processes to strengthen long-term partnerships.

With healthcare continually evolving, Unity positions itself as an adaptable, forward-thinking partner. The team actively engages with both insurance plans and the provider community to stay aligned with emerging needs. To do that well, Unity has brought together experts across workers’ compensation, health plans, auto, billing, brokerage, and provider sectors. ā€œI trust these individuals to help us navigate trends strategically and keep our focus on the most critical priorities.ā€

Technology—especially AI—is central to Unity’s future. With a mix of internal experts and consultants, the company is investing heavily in smart automation and data intelligence. ā€œWe’re already leveraging AI today, but our plans for 2026 and beyond involve significantly expanding those capabilities,ā€ Pierce says. He sees AI-driven decision support and advanced automation as key opportunities to improve outcomes and keep up with client expectations.

One of Unity’s greatest strengths lies in its leadership. The CEO, Jarred Pierce, intentionally constructed a diverse administrative team—one with a wide spectrum of perspectives and professional experiences. Many of these leaders had worked with him long before Unity was formed, creating a foundation of deep trust.

ā€œI’m genuinely proud of this team,ā€ he says. ā€œTheir dedication and expertise have been instrumental in helping us achieve so much in such a short period of time.ā€ Today, Unity operates nationwide with a leadership pipeline shaped by strategic diversity, collaboration, and shared vision.

One of the most difficult early hurdles was overcoming the industry’s skepticism—much of it earned by competitors who had historically taken advantage of providers. Because of that, gaining trust wasn’t optional; it was essential.

Jarred states, ā€œWe focused on proving ourselves through transparency, integrity, and tangible results. Trust is earned through action, and credibility is built through consistency.ā€ Unity succeeded quickly by partnering with reputable consultants and billing companies and hiring strong executive leadership. The company’s early results helped it carve out a distinct identity—one far removed from the practices of organizations it did not want to be compared to.

Looking back, he would tell his younger self to trust his instincts sooner and take more strategic risks. ā€œThere are moments when I wish I had started this network earlier,ā€ he admits. Yet he also acknowledges that the timing led to assembling the remarkable team he has today. Pierce’s experience—spanning provider operations, billing, and every component of the network ecosystem—has given him a perspective he now sees as one of his greatest advantages.

Looking ahead, his ambitions for Unity Preferred Network are expansive. He envisions the company becoming one of the largest PPO networks in the country—known not only for reach, but for integrity and reliability.

ā€œWe’re working toward serving tens of millions of members nationwide,ā€ he says, ā€œwith providers and hospitals available in every city across America.ā€ Through its partnership with Trusted Provider Network (TPN), Unity also plans to become the nation’s largest behavioral health network, using value-based care models to improve mental health access across communities.

Behind the company’s momentum is a leader who prioritizes continuous learning through trade publications, conferences, and leadership-focused reading and podcasts. He attributes much of his effectiveness to staying active and committed to well-being. ā€œI make it a priority to stay current on industry trends,ā€ Pierce says. ā€œAnd maintaining an active lifestyle keeps me mentally sharp and well-prepared for whatever comes my way.ā€

Ultimately, his vision extends far beyond growth metrics or market share. He hopes to build a company that transforms industry expectations while becoming a workplace that employees are proud to call home. ā€œI want Unity to be the best place to work,ā€ he says. ā€œA place where people feel safe, protected, and supported in achieving both their professional and lifelong goals.ā€

More than anything, he aims to leave a legacy defined by fairness, integrity, and the ability to help families build better lives. If Unity Preferred Network continues on its current trajectory, that legacy is already taking shape.
