Teniqua Broughton, the Founder and CEO of VerveSimone Consulting, is making an impact in the nonprofit sector through her expertise in nonprofit governance, equity readiness, and leadership empowerment. With a passion for helping organizations achieve sustainability, Teniqua leverages her extensive experience and insight to identify effective strategies that drive desired outcomes.
Her professional career has given her a deep understanding of both direct services to children and organizational leadership. This understanding serves as a platform for Teniqua to infuse her knowledge and experience into professional organizations, while also providing insight on board governance best practices. She has supported administrative leadership and provided staff/resource management to organizations in Arizona and throughout the nation.
Teniqua's commitment to governance and diversification on boards is evident through her work with various organizations. She is the founder of the Monarch Society and Council at the Desert Botanical Garden, which established a membership and leadership group to integrate age diversification within the garden during her tenure as a Trustee. She currently serves as Chair of the Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF), past chair of their Equity and Inclusion (EIC) Committee, and a member of the Desert Botanical Garden Foundation board, plus a member of the LISC Phoenix Local Advisory Committee (LAC) and ASU Council for Resilience Leaders. She is a past Chair and Commissioner for the City of Phoenix’s Arts & Culture Commission.
