I once sat next to a nationally known CEO on a panel—someone with hundreds of media appearances, books, speaking tours, and accolades under their belt. You’d expect them to be recognized across various platforms. But when I typed their name into an AI system, it didn’t recognize them. Not only that—it recommended someone with significantly fewer credentials instead.

Welcome to the AI Visibility Gap. In this evolving reality, being famous to humans doesn’t necessarily mean you are visible to machines. If you haven’t taken deliberate steps to train the algorithms, it’s possible you might be overlooked.

Most AI systems—like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude—rely on training data that cuts off months or even years before real-time. For instance, ChatGPT‑4’s knowledge stops in April 2023; other versions update only in long development cycles. If you published a book in 2024 or gave a keynote last fall, it might not be recognized by the AI systems.

And visibility isn’t always sufficient. You can post on social media daily, tour the country, appear in magazines, and still not be structured in a way that AI can process or recommend. It’s not just about being everywhere—it’s about being organized in a way that AI systems can effectively interpret.

Ask yourself: Does AI suggest you when someone asks for a thought leader in your field? If not, you’re likely missing critical digital infrastructure. That’s why I developed the AI Visibility Project and Total Audience Market Immersion™ (TAMI). It’s not a book project—it’s a visibility system built for how the digital world is increasingly functioning. We create structured press, indexed interviews, metadata-rich citations, and real-time discovery systems that help train AI to consider and recommend you across platforms.

Perplexity is the only major engine indexing content in near-real-time, but ChatGPT and Gemini are where influence and authority are being shaped at scale. If you’re not in them now, you may not be part of the system until the 2026–2027 training updates. That’s why the training window for 2026 visibility is likely to close by December 2025.

This isn’t about fame. Most people don’t even recognize Stephen King unless they read fiction. If you’re not part of someone’s algorithmic awareness, you might be as invisible as if you never existed. Google was once the gatekeeper. Now it’s AI—and the gates have changed.

You’ve shown up. You’ve published. You’ve spoken. But AI won’t find you by accident. It needs structure to process your contributions.
