Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a major foundation for changes in how industries, businesses, and individuals operate in work and life. Its growing influence suggests that AI will remain a major part of the future, but not every organization is prepared for the pace of change. With THRIVE: The Antidote to Future Shock, Fredric Marshall, the founder and CEO of Quantum Learning, Inc., aims to help companies reorient themselves toward a future shaped by AI.

A Background in Change Leadership

Marshall’s background is in identifying research-based behavioral patterns of top performers. He uses this experience to help global innovators scale those behaviors in ways that may support brand growth and organizational change. Marshall’s career has long been centered on guiding change across fields such as tech and biopharma. Through his company, Quantum Learning, Inc., he has worked with major enterprises such as Apple, Pfizer, and Genentech on change initiatives and brand launches. To date, Marshall has trained more than 130,000 people in 14 countries and helped launch 74 brands. For him, transformational change has been the basis of his career.

Of course, Marshall’s business expertise was not earned easily. To find success in change leadership, he has frequently been driven to reinvent himself and his own company.

“The world never stops changing. Winning products have lifecycles. Technology changes. Markets evolve… The way I’ve solved the need to reimagine and reinvent my company and myself is pretty straightforward: have a broad range of relationships with people from different worlds,” Marshall stated. “The right people simplify everything.”

A Growing Focus on AI Technology

Around 2020, Marshall’s approach to leadership led him to build more connections in AI technology. Recognizing the field’s potential, he began paying closer attention to AI-driven companies, including NVIDIA and several early-stage AI startups. Since then, Marshall has taken an interest in more than 25 AI startups, many at the pre-seed, seed, and Series A stages.

“Steel literally changed the world,” Marshall explained. “AI may do something similar, but at a much faster pace. The scale of change could be significant.”

A Strategic Playbook for Change

Supported by personal expertise, a forward-looking mindset, and the right people, Marshall began to believe that “future shock” could become a major issue in and around 2027 to 2028. Recognizing this, he made the decision to write a book intended to help people respond to rapid change. In his book, THRIVE: The Antidote to Future Shock, Marshall focuses on the internal, external, and shared journeys toward a more grounded personal future. He aims to help people and businesses navigate the overwhelm and disruption of exponential change, with guidance on staying calm, focused, and effective as the world changes quickly.

“It’s important because human-AI symbiosis is the new frontier of human creativity and exponential impact,” Marshall asserted. “For people looking to better understand their story and adapt to change, this book offers a framework to consider.”

A Vision for the Future

As industries, businesses, and individuals prepare to navigate change, Marshall encourages others to view AI as a source of possibility rather than only disruption. His experience working with global companies has shaped his belief that people and organizations can better position themselves when they study change, build strong relationships, and adapt with intention.

“The future is going to be amazing. My vision is to help as many people as I can feel more prepared for the age of exponential change, because so many people are going to get left behind if we don’t give them an actionable path forward.”

For Marshall, the book is less about predicting a single future than preparing readers to think more clearly about the one taking shape. THRIVE presents his perspective on how people can respond to uncertainty with structure, focus, and a willingness to keep learning as AI continues to influence work and life.
