Every year, Halloween brings with it a sense of magic, mystery, and an opportunity for people of all ages to step into the shoes of their favorite characters. It’s a time for revelry and imagination, but it’s also a time when many communities come together for a noble cause. This year, the Halloween Charity Costume Ball by our nonprofit, Hatching for Health, was a shining example of how this holiday can be a force for good.

Hatching for Health, a non-profit talk show hosted and founded by Jessica Hatch is dedicated to raising awareness about rare diseases with our network of physicians, joined hands with the community to support HearGift through our Halloween Charity Costume Ball. Our network of physicians and healthcare experts have been working tirelessly to shed light on the challenges faced by those affected by rare diseases, and this collaboration allowed us to extend our reach and make a meaningful impact.

The event, held at the Corinthian, was a remarkable evening filled with laughter, creative costumes, and, most importantly, a spirit of giving. Sandee June, a talented country artist, provided the musical backdrop for the evening, serenading the guests and keeping the energy high. But what truly made the night special was the generosity of everyone who attended and donated to the cause.

Benefiting HeartGift was something we never questioned because they’re a charitable organization that provides life-saving surgeries for children around the world. HeartGift’s mission is to ensure that children with congenital heart defects receive the medical attention they desperately need, regardless of their geographical location or financial means. The Halloween Charity Costume Ball by Hatching for Health was an opportunity for our community to rally behind this heartwarming cause.

The support for HeartGift was overwhelming, and the event managed to raise over $20,000 for the organization, enough to save a child’s life. This impressive figure was a testament to the generosity of the attendees and the hard work of Jessica Hatch and the event’s organizers. Jessica Hatch, the founder of Hatching for Health, expressed her gratitude for the community’s support, as she witnessed the outpouring of love and kindness.

In addition to the attendees and donors, the Halloween Charity Costume Ball wouldn’t have been possible without the support of its sponsors. These companies and individuals played a crucial role in making the event a resounding success. Their contributions, both financial and in-kind, ensured that the evening was a memorable one.

Dr. Damien J. LaPar, MD, MSc, an associate professor of Cardiovascular Surgery at McGovern Medical School, specializing in pediatric congenital heart surgery as a triple board-certified surgeon, took the stage to speak about the importance of HeartGift’s mission. His words were a poignant reminder of the life-saving impact of this organization. We also had Ms. Bethany Buchanan, who sits on the Houston HeartGift Community Impact Board. share her heartfelt thoughts on the cause. Their speeches added depth and significance to the event, reminding everyone of the real-world impact of their contributions.

This partnership between the community and Hatching for Health was a powerful synergy of two groups with a shared commitment to supporting HeartGift. The success of this event has motivated us to continue our mission of raising awareness and providing support to those in need.

As we bid farewell to this year’s Halloween Charity Costume Ball, we encourage everyone to stay tuned and be on the lookout for more events and initiatives from Hatching for Health. Together, we can continue to bring positive change to our community and beyond, one charitable endeavor at a time. Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and supported this wonderful event, and we look forward to more opportunities to make a difference in the future.
