Summers should be filled with poolside cocktails and sunsets on the beach, all while looking your best. Blue Water Spa founder Rachel Lee Lozina is making that possible, no downtime required.
While social media might make it seem like the latest and greatest intrusive procedure is absolutely essential, Lozina is taking a different approach. “I don’t want the newest hip replacement,” she says with a laugh. “I want the old-and-gold hip replacement that’s stood the test of time.”
In contrast to the beauty industry’s obsession with harsher treatments and the promise of instant transformation, Lozina is focused on maintaining her clients’ overall quality, both of life and of skin.
“Every machine that comes on the market gets crazier and more invasive than the next,” she says. “The needles go deeper. The downtime gets longer. But your skin is an organ. I see people who have over-exfoliated their faces or lost facial fat from high-energy devices.”
For Lozina, looking good and feeling better isn’t about doing the most. “I think it’s more about quality,” she says. “I always compare it to a little black dress. You can have one that’s cheap, or you can have one that’s perfectly tailored and beautifully made. That’s what I’m trying to create for the skin.”

What sets Lozina apart is the ability to push the skin without going too far. She built this intuition over more than two decades in skincare and medical aesthetics. Licensed in 2003 with training from the Colorado School of Paramedical Aesthetics, she has worked in luxury spas and alongside prominent Manhattan and Long Island plastic surgeons.
“The medical spa world was all injectables, numbing cream, downtime and pain,” she explains. So, she opted for a more nuanced approach, one built around comfort and minimal downtime. Who wants to lie inside for weeks healing their newest procedure when they can be poolside in days?
“I always say we do New York City-style facials,” Lozina says. “Very elevated, nuanced, lots of machinery, but nothing invasive. It’s like a red carpet facial, something you do a day or two before an event and look spectacular.”
This style has caught the attention of countless industry professionals, and Lozina found herself becoming a trusted voice in this sphere. Publications like Glamour, Byrdie, and Newsday have featured the spa, and Modern Luxury even named it in its 2026 Best of Beauty.
Despite being minimally invasive, Blue Water Spa’s services are beyond the fluff of the standard day spa. Treatments focus heavily on advanced technologies like microcurrent sculpting, LED photorejuvenation, EMSCULPT Neo, and the coveted Icoone Laser Body Sculpting system from Italy, designed to produce visible improvement without aggressive procedures or extended recovery time.
Her grounded perspective has struck a chord with clients seeking sophisticated skincare that prioritizes long-term skin health over temporary hype. The type of people who prioritize experience over trends, and need their routine to fit their life, not the other way around.
In recent years, as these clients have increased, Blue Water Spa has grown alongside them. What started as a modest two-room operation in Oyster Bay has quadrupled in size since 2008. “Flash forward 18 years later, we have 13 rooms. Looking back now, it feels a little crazy, but entrepreneurship isn’t really a choice. It’s something you’re called to do,” Lozina says.
Her passion for skin has driven them so far that in 2024, she launched her second location in Southampton. For Lozina, who began this journey at just 25 years old while raising a toddler, the expansion feels less like a business strategy and more like the natural evolution of a lifelong calling.
“This is our second year out there, and the momentum is really picking up,” she says. “The Hamptons wants nothing less than the best. It’s a very word-of-mouth community, so people come in, they tell their friends, and it grows organically.”
That word-of-mouth is no surprise. Lozina’s clients were unanimous that their summers in the Hamptons needed the Blue Water touch. Her unique blend of medspa results and day spa recovery makes her treatments a vacation essential.
Lozina’s philosophy keeps her clients out and about, feeling confident and radiant in their skin. She believes in helping people feel like the best version of themselves, without losing who they are in the process.
For Lozina, confidence should feel effortless, especially in the summer months. Her treatments are designed to complement the season, not compete with it. Glowing skin is best enjoyed outside the treatment room.
