Discover how persistence and networking propelled Filipe Trindade to “Meet The Drapers,” the reality show by the billionaire investor behind Tesla and SpaceX.

Filipe Trindade, once the worst student in his school, who never advanced a grade without struggle and consistently challenged the traditional education system, has charted an impressive entrepreneurial journey. His persistence and curiosity led him to overcome numerous challenges and emerge as a success story in the startup world. Born in Campo Grande, MS, the 35-year-old has built a remarkable career, becoming a reference in both the national and international entrepreneurial scenes.

With a degree in International Relations, Filipe embarked on his entrepreneurial venture at the age of 23. His first business, a restaurant, failed, but provided him with invaluable experience. Over the years, Filipe started various startups, gaining knowledge and contacts in the business world. In 2015, he was recognized as the Young Entrepreneur by the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, a prize that boosted his career and opened doors for future projects.

Since 2018, Filipe has made trips to Silicon Valley, knocking on doors to connect with major investors and entrepreneurs. After many rejections, he finally received a positive response from the most important door of his career.

In 2021, Filipe received a scholarship to attend Draper University and moved to Silicon Valley. Living in the area and mingling with billionaire venture capitalist Tim Draper, Filipe was invited to join the reality show “Meet the Drapers,” on Sony International, becoming the first Brazilian to be a judge on the world’s largest investment reality show.

In 2023, Tim Draper visited Brazil for the Know How Experience event in São Paulo, strengthening the connection with the renowned investor. Additionally, the collaboration between the entrepreneurs brought Draper Startup House’s accelerator to Brazil, in partnership with the Know How Club.

Interacting with Tim Draper, one of the world’s leading venture capitalists, gave Filipe the opportunity to meet major global business figures, and networking became his key skill in attracting investors, mentors, and business partners. “The experience of becoming a judge on the world’s biggest investment reality show is fantastic. I had a big dream of meeting Tim Draper, of doing business with these major investors, these world billionaires,” says Filipe.

Beyond his professional achievements, Filipe dedicates time to hobbies such as surfing, working out, reading, and traveling. Committed to philanthropy, he leads social projects in Campo Grande, offering opportunities to local entrepreneurs and inspiring low-income youth to pursue their dreams.

Looking to the future, Filipe aims to globalize his startup “Know How Club” and transform it into a worldwide entrepreneurship club, providing credits for startups and SMEs. His life philosophy is guided by persistence, resilience, and positive influence, standing out as an example of success and growth with limited resources but extensive networking. Moreover, the Know How Club is in the process of becoming a fintech in 2024, further expanding its success prospects.
