Lisa Jalufka didn’t start her career planning to sell homes. She studied history at Virginia Tech with a focus on education, and that background still shapes everything she does today. After more than two decades in real estate, she hasn’t just built a business. She’s built a reputation for teaching clients how to think through decisions that most people only make a few times in their lives.
From Teacher to Trusted Advisor
Lisa became an Associate Broker with Keller Williams Realty before moving to Century 21 New Millennium in 2014. She’s licensed across five states: Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia. But the licenses and designations aren’t what her clients talk about. They talk about how she explains things. How she breaks down contracts, market risks, and financing options in ways that actually make sense. “I teach clients and agents why decisions matter, whether that’s understanding market risk, financing nuances, inspection implications, or long-term resale impact,” she said.
Her approach doesn’t fit the usual real estate mold. The industry has always rewarded speed and volume. Lisa focuses on clarity and strategy instead. She believes the role of an agent should be less about facilitating transactions and more about being a long-term advisor who helps people avoid mistakes they may later regret.
Reducing Risk Through Education
The clients who seek her out are usually dealing with high-stakes decisions. They want to price correctly. They need to understand complex contracts. They’re worried about making choices they can’t undo. Lisa works through these concerns by acting as both advisor and educator. She uses data and experience to guide decisions, but she also explains the “why” behind every recommendation. “The ideal outcome is confidence and peace of mind,” she explained. “My clients don’t just close a transaction. They understand it, feel protected, and believe they made the right decision.”
That focus on understanding has led to fewer surprises and better outcomes. It’s also built her a loyal following. Clients come back because they trust her, and they refer others for the same reason.
Recognition and Growth

Lisa’s work has earned her recognition within Century 21. She was named one of the Top 50 Century 21 Agents in Virginia in both 2019 and 2021. She’s also achieved Centurion level status within the company’s awards program. But even with that success, she hasn’t stopped expanding. Century 21 New Millennium just opened an office in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, marking the company’s expansion into its fifth state. Lisa will be leading that office.
The move into Pennsylvania represents more than just growth. It’s another opportunity to bring her educational approach to a new market, working with buyers, sellers, landlords, and renters who may need someone they can rely on.
A Different Kind of Value
What sets Lisa apart isn’t just what she does during a transaction. It’s how she adds value before and after. She identifies risks early. She sets clear strategies. She advocates for her clients at every step. And once the deal is done, she stays connected. Her clients know they can reach out with questions months or even years later.
This approach takes more time. It requires patience. But it can reduce liability and lead to outcomes that hold up over the long term. “This approach can reduce surprises, minimize liability, and lead to better outcomes for everyone involved,” she said.
Building Confidence in Complex Decisions
Real estate transactions are rarely simple. There are inspections to interpret, market conditions to consider, and financial details that can trip up even experienced buyers and sellers. Lisa walks her clients through all of it. She doesn’t pressure them toward quick decisions. She gives them the information they need to move forward with confidence.
Her friendly and knowledgeable style has helped clients navigate complicated situations without panic. She’s handled complex transactions that other agents might have avoided, and her clients have come out the other side with their goals met and their trust intact. That’s what keeps them coming back. And that’s what makes her different.
