Leadership coach and trainer Charles Burke, an Executive Director with the Maxwell Team, is preparing to release his highly anticipated book – Live on Purpose – by Q4 2024 to Q1 2025. With over two decades of experience in leadership, communication, and sales, Charles honed a unique approach to personal development and growth. Through his business, Live on Purpose Training, this visionary is committed to helping people develop more meaningful relationships and effective influences in both personal and business settings.
The development of Live on Purpose began back in 2016, as Charles reflected on his early experiences as an entrepreneur and time in the self-help industries. After reading countless books and attending numerous seminars, he found himself frustrated by the lack of connection between personal development principles and his Christian beliefs. This frustration led him to a well-known leadership guru whose teachings successfully bridged the gap between spirituality and business. “A friend of mine, like an angel, introduced me to Maxwell’s teachings,” he recalls. Inspired by Maxwell’s example, Charles spent three years immersing himself in leadership development, evolving his own style, and combining everything he had learned into a cohesive framework. “I changed who I was in those three years,” the leadership coach recalls. “And it all started to come together.”
Live on Purpose is an umbrella for its three concepts – Be-Greater Than (B>), Live on Purpose, and Power-Under.
The concept of Be-Greater Than (B>) focuses on self-leadership, encouraging individuals to harness their strengths and improve their mindset. “Mindset is very critical and the first step to improving oneself,” he explains. He differentiates between scarcity versus abundance, fear versus faith, and finite versus infinite mindsets. Changing one’s mindset from fear to faith, for instance, is essential for long-term behavioral change. Charles adds, “To sustain behavioral change, we must change our core belief.”

Charles also addresses common misconceptions in self-leadership. Many believe that anyone can achieve greatness simply by wishing for it. Instead, he argues that success is about doing the best with what you have and focusing on continuous improvement.
Effective resource management is another crucial aspect of Charles’ teachings within Be-Greater Than. He highlights the importance of managing time, energy, and skills wisely. “Resource management involves identifying your strengths – your ‘freak factor’ – and prioritizing tasks based on their importance and urgency,” he notes. His method includes a system where tasks are categorized into four sections based on their importance and urgency, guiding individuals on where to focus their efforts for maximum impact and results.
Live on Purpose, on the other hand, teaches the importance of intentionality in leadership. By focusing on attitude, effort, and resource management, Burke helps leaders move from reactive to proactive, ensuring that their actions align with their goals and values.
Charles believes that Power-Under is especially groundbreaking. “Power-Under is not something I came up with on my own – it’s been given to me. It’s a concept that emphasizes humility in leadership and the importance of lifting others up to increase positive and effective influence,” Charles explains. “It’s about maximizing influence in people’s lives through a servant leadership mindset.”
Unlike traditional leadership models, which focus on exerting control or authority, Power-Under promotes humility, trust, and respect, creating influence built through service. “Power-Under doesn’t make sense unless I first explain the ideas of Be-Greater Than and Live on Purpose, which is why the book covers all three concepts,” Charles says. “But once people grasp Power-Under, it transforms the way they communicate and lead, creating truly influential leaders.”
The ultimate goal of Live on Purpose is to expand these ideas beyond the coach’s current circle of clients. Having built a successful career providing coaching and small group training for everyone, from solopreneurs to multinational corporations, Charles is now ready to scale up. “I’m not doing this just for the income. I truly want to make a bigger impact,” he says.
Charles Burke is currently expanding his teachings into a forthcoming book, set to delve deeper into his journey from a sales representative to a renowned leadership coach. The book will blend personal anecdotes with actionable insights, offering readers a comprehensive guide to implementing this leadership coach’s principles in their own lives and careers.
In addition to his book, Charles is excited about the launch of his new YouTube channel, where he will discuss his leadership philosophy and the impact of his programs.
