Jeff Scislow has spent nearly four decades building one of the most recognized real estate careers in Minnesota. Working throughout the Twin Cities metro with RE/MAX Results, he has helped thousands of buyers and sellers navigate major life decisions while earning a reputation for strong negotiation, creative marketing, and exceptional customer service. Over the years, his name has become familiar throughout the community, not simply because of the number of homes he has sold, but because of the relationships he has built along the way.
Throughout his career, Jeff has sold more than 3,300 homes and has consistently ranked among Minnesota’s top-producing agents. He has been recognized multiple times as a community Reader’s Choice winner by the Dakota County Tribune and has repeatedly been named among Minnesota’s Top 10 Realtors for Customer Service and Client Satisfaction. He has also earned recognition as National Marketer of the Year. While the awards are impressive, Jeff believes the true measure of success has always been much simpler.
“At the end of the day, this business is about people,” Jeff said. “If you genuinely care about your clients, communicate well, and do what you say you’re going to do, people remember that.”
A Career That Started by Doing Things Differently
Jeff’s rise in Minnesota real estate accelerated in the 1990s when he began creating bold, memorable advertising campaigns that stood apart from what most agents were doing at the time. The ads generated attention throughout the Twin Cities and helped establish his well-known slogan, “Jeff Scislow — The Name You Know.” Many people still remember those campaigns decades later.
Around the same time, Jeff made another move that many in the industry questioned. In 1992, he hired a buyer’s agent to work with his buyer clients, something that was virtually unheard of at the time in Minnesota real estate.
“I remember people thinking I was crazy,” Jeff said with a laugh. “Agents were asking why I would ever do that.”
The strategy allowed Jeff to focus heavily on listings and marketing while still ensuring buyers received excellent service and attention. Instead of slowing his business down, the model dramatically increased it. Years later, buyer-agent teams became common throughout the industry, but at the time, Jeff was operating far ahead of the curve.
Changing the Way Real Estate Was Done

Jeff continued pushing boundaries throughout his career. By the late 1990s, he became the first real estate agent in Minnesota to sell more than 200 homes in a single year. He was also the first agent in the state to launch a personal real estate website in 1995, recognizing early how technology and online visibility would eventually reshape the industry.
He was featured on the cover of REALTOR® Magazine in 1997, an issue distributed nationally to more than one million agents across the country. Over the years, Jeff ranked as the number one RE/MAX agent in Minnesota in transactions and commissions eight different times and placed among the top three agents in the state in numerous additional years.
He also became the first RE/MAX agent in Minnesota to achieve Hall of Fame, Lifetime Achievement, Circle of Legends, and Luminary of Distinction honors.
“It’s always fun being first at something,” Jeff said. “But what mattered most to me was continuing to grow, improve, and find better ways to help clients succeed.”
The Relationships Behind the Results
Behind the production numbers and awards is a career built largely on repeat business and referrals. Many of Jeff’s clients today are former clients returning years later, or the children, relatives, neighbors, and coworkers of people he previously helped buy or sell homes.
His team has earned well over 100 five-star reviews across Google and LinkedIn, with clients consistently mentioning responsiveness, communication, honesty, and problem-solving. Jeff believes those relationships are what have allowed his business to remain successful through changing markets and multiple generations of buyers and sellers.
“Real estate is personal,” he said. “People remember how you made them feel during one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives. I’ve always tried to make the process less stressful, more enjoyable, and ultimately successful for them.”
That philosophy has helped Jeff remain relevant and respected in an industry that has changed dramatically since he first entered the business nearly 40 years ago.
Long After the Closing Table
Jeff’s connection with past clients does not end when a transaction closes. Every Thursday, his team shares one of his memorable throwback advertisements from the 1990s on social media and through their client database. On Fridays, they feature a recent five-star client review. The posts have become a fun and consistent way to stay connected with the community while reminding people that relationships still matter in business.
Many clients who first worked with Jeff decades ago continue following his work today. Some have bought and sold multiple homes through him over the years, while others simply stay in touch because of the connection they built during the process.
For Jeff, that long-term trust means more than any individual transaction.
A Name People Continue to Recognize
After nearly four decades in real estate, Jeff Scislow has built a career defined not only by sales numbers and awards, but by consistency, innovation, and relationships. Through changing markets, evolving technology, and shifting consumer expectations, he has continued adapting while staying grounded in the same core principles that built his business from the beginning: strong communication, creative thinking, and genuinely caring about the people he serves.
Today, Jeff’s sons Mike and David work alongside him as an important part of the business, bringing tremendous value to the clients they serve. Jeff considers himself very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with his sons each day as they continue building on the foundation he created over nearly four decades in the industry.
Jeff remains grateful for the career he has built and the thousands of families he has had the opportunity to help along the way.
“It’s been a tremendous blessing,” he said. “I’ve met incredible people through this business, built lifelong friendships, and had the chance to help people through some very important moments in their lives. I’ve never taken that for granted.”
