By: Restoration 1 of Rancho Cucamonga
A Bold Beginning
When Kenny and Vanessa Van Holland opened Restoration 1 of Rancho Cucamonga, they weren’t just starting a business – they were stepping into a calling: to be the first to show up when disaster strikes. What began as a leap of faith into franchise ownership has grown into one of the fast-growing emergency restoration companies serving Rancho Cucamonga and surrounding cities.
As part of America’s large independent restoration company, their mission is to develop and maintain a well-trained team of quality people who strive to provide excellent customer service – with honesty, integrity, respect, and compassion. They are also proud to be a certified women-owned small business committed to serving their community with excellence.
In 2024, their dedication was recognized nationally when Restoration 1 of Rancho Cucamonga earned the Rookie of the Year Award for its notable impact and rapid growth.
Built on Service and Strength
Vanessa’s journey is one of resilience and grit. After nearly 12 years in real estate asset management and almost five years working for a nationally recognized emergency restoration brand as a Sales & Marketing Manager, she brought a strong understanding of client care, insurance processes, and business development to the venture. Her strengths in marketing and relationship-building paired seamlessly with Kenny’s extensive operational background.
Kenny is a licensed general contractor with over 18 years as a Mechanical Engineer in manufacturing. His industry certifications from the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) – combined with his hands-on problem-solving approach, help ensure seamless coordination with crews and effective communication with customers.
“We both came from service – serving others, solving problems, and stepping up under pressure. That’s what this business is all about,” Vanessa shares.
Service-First Culture
From the start, the Van Hollands built Restoration 1 on a foundation of responsiveness and integrity. The company operates 24/7, responding to water damage, fire damage, mold remediation, and trauma/biohazard emergencies with urgency and compassion.
“When someone’s home is flooded or damaged, it’s more than a job – it’s their life upside down. We treat it that way,” Kenny explains.
Their service-first mindset influences every aspect of the business – from how their technicians are trained to how they engage with insurance adjusters and property managers. Restoration 1 of Rancho Cucamonga is well-regarded not only for its responsiveness but for being a trusted partner during chaotic times.

Doing the Right Thing, Every Time
Kenny and Vanessa have created a company culture where doing the right thing isn’t negotiable – it’s the standard. Their team is trained to walk customers through the claims process, explain each step of mitigation, and never pressure homeowners into unnecessary decisions.
“We’re here to educate and help people navigate the chaos,” says Vanessa. “That’s what we’d want if it were our home.”
Guided by these values, Restoration 1 of Rancho Cucamonga has become one of the trusted water damage restoration companies in Rancho Cucamonga. Kenny and Vanessa’s hands-on leadership, integrity, and commitment to helping others have fueled steady growth and earned the trust of homeowners and the surrounding community.
Rooted in Community
Their commitment to service goes beyond the job site. Vanessa is active in local networking groups, women-owned business circles, and community initiatives. The Van Hollands regularly donate time and resources to school events, neighborhood clean-up projects, their church, and local nonprofits.
“Being rooted in this community matters,” Vanessa says. “We live here, work here, raise our family here and attend church here. We’re all in.”
Defining Success
To Vanessa, success is about impact – not just income.
“It’s about waking up each day knowing that the work we do truly matters. That we’re helping people during some of their hardest moments, and that we’re building something meaningful and lasting – for our family, our team, and our community.
Success means creating a business that reflects our core values: integrity, compassion, and excellence. It’s measured in the trust we earn, the relationships we build, and the way we show up for others when it counts most.
I also see success in the legacy we’re creating; for our children, who get to watch their parents build something from the ground up, and for our team, who are growing alongside us and pouring just as much heart into our mission. If we can look back and say we made a difference, took care of people, and honored God in the process – that’s real success.”

Looking Ahead
With a focus on sustainable growth, the Van Hollands are expanding their team, investing in ongoing training, and deepening relationships within the community. Their mission is clear: to serve with integrity, respond with urgency, and bring peace of mind to homeowners and business owners during their most difficult moments.
“Restoration 1 has given us the opportunity to serve in ways we never imagined,” says Vanessa. “It’s not just about rebuilding homes, it’s about restoring peace of mind.”
