Catherine M. Yeoman has spent more than three decades working in real estate in the Greater Lafayette area, and her name has become familiar to many who have bought or sold a home in the region during that time. She has lived in the area for over 34 years and raised three children there, which gives her a personal connection to the place she works in every day. Her background is varied. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences with a focus on Nuclear and Health Physics from Purdue University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Holistic Health Sciences and a Master’s degree in Natural Medicine from Quantum University.
Beyond her work with clients, Catherine has served on the Lafayette Board of Realtors as President twice, sat on the Board of Directors for more than ten years, and founded the Lafayette Realtors Community Outreach initiative. Today, she runs Nightingale Real Estate, a virtual brokerage she built from the ground up. Her practice is shaped by years of lived experience, steady community involvement, and an honest approach to the people she works with.
A Long Career Shaped by the Same Community
Catherine has been a Real Estate Broker for over 30 years, all of it spent in the Greater Lafayette area. That kind of consistency is uncommon, and it allows her to understand the local market in a way that only time can offer. She knows the neighborhoods, the patterns, and the people who make up the community she serves. Her three children were raised in the same area where she works, which means her ties to the region go well beyond business.
Education That Goes Beyond the Standard Path
Most agents come into real estate from one direction. Catherine arrived with a wider background. Her Purdue degree in Environmental Sciences gave her a strong grounding in science and analysis, while her later studies at Quantum University in Holistic Health Sciences and Natural Medicine added a different kind of training, one focused on people and well-being. She believes this combination shapes how she works with clients. “I believe the difference in what I bring to the table is my experience and my education,” she explained. The two together give her a way of approaching real estate that is both practical and personal.
Serving the Lafayette Board of Realtors

Catherine’s involvement with the Lafayette Board of Realtors has been significant. She has served as President twice and spent more than ten years on the Board of Directors. She also created the Lafayette Realtors Community Outreach initiative, which focuses on local needs related to housing and the broader environment. “Not many contribute at a multitude of different levels, local and state combined,” she said. For Catherine, this kind of service is part of being a professional in the field, not a separate activity.
Helping Clients Through a Difficult Market
The local market is not easy right now. Housing shortages are the main issue Catherine sees, and current interest rates add another layer of difficulty for buyers. Her approach is steady. She meets with clients, sets realistic goals, and stays in regular contact as the search moves along. Sometimes the plan is short term, sometimes it stretches out over a longer period. Either way, her clients know what to expect from her. “They know I’m there for the distance and will remain focused on what best suits them and their future,” she said. That kind of steady presence is what many buyers and sellers need when the market feels uncertain.
Building Nightingale Real Estate
Nightingale Real Estate is Catherine’s own brokerage, and it operates as a virtual office. Instead of running a traditional storefront, she meets clients where they are and handles the process online when it makes sense. The model reduces the overhead associated with a physical office and gives her more time to focus on the people she works with. “I’m afforded more time to provide round the clock personal attention to each client,” she said. The firm is still new, but it is going well, and the approach reflects how she has always preferred to work.
Catherine Yeoman’s practice is built on long experience, real community involvement, and a quiet commitment to doing right by the people who trust her. In a market that asks a lot of both buyers and sellers, that kind of steady, grounded work matters.
