Candice Eberhardt has been helping people buy and sell homes in the Akron area for more than 25 years. She got her real estate license in 2001 when she was just 20 years old, making her one of the youngest agents in her market at the time. A decade later, she earned a degree in real estate and passed her broker exam in 2012. That same year, on October 31, she opened Eberhardt Realty, which she still runs today.

Her agency, based in the Wallhaven neighborhood of Northwest Akron, was recently named the number one real estate agency in that area by Business Rate for 2026. For Candice, the recognition reflects years of steady work and a commitment to serving clients who are often overlooked by larger firms.

Serving First-Time Homebuyers

Most of her clients are first-time homebuyers. Many come to her facing challenges with credit or struggling to pull together the funds needed to close on a house. Instead of turning them away, Candice meets with them personally and connects them to agencies that can help them prepare financially. Some of these programs even offer grant money to assist with the purchase.

She stays in touch throughout the entire process, sometimes for months, until they are ready to buy. Then she helps them find the right home. To date, she has educated and assisted more than 500 families on their path to homeownership. Many of those families never thought owning a home was within reach.

ā€œSeeing these buyers at the closing table will always be the most poignant part of my career,ā€ she said. ā€œI am still in contact with many of them.ā€

A Hands-On Approach to Leadership

That connection to clients is what defines her approach. She believes in giving people the resources they need, especially those who never imagined homeownership was possible for them. Running a small, focused operation allows her to stay involved in every part of the business.

Candice works closely with her agents at her brokerage, making sure they have the tools to understand the market and grow professionally. She takes pride in her relationship with her team collectively and individually, all while helping them become skilled professionals who understand the ever-changing real estate market.

Making History in Northeast Ohio

Her accomplishments extend beyond her own office. In 2022, Candice was elected as the first minority woman to serve as President of the Akron Cleveland Association of REALTORS, the governing body for approximately 7,000 real estate professionals across Cuyahoga, Summit, and Portage Counties. She has served on professional boards at both the state and local levels and has been featured in news articles throughout her career.

Over the years, she has collected a number of awards. She has been a Multi-Million Dollar Producer consecutively for many years, graduated from Leadership Akron Class 34 in 2018, and was named a Notable Real Estate Agent by Crain’s Cleveland in 2021. In 2022, she was highlighted in the Plain Dealer for Women’s History Month. The following year, the Akron Cleveland Association of REALTORS named her Realtor of the Year, and the Women’s Council of Realtors created an award in her name: The Candice Eberhardt Legacy in Leadership Award. In 2026, she also received the Women’s Council of Realtors Dedication Award.

Trust as the Foundation

Still, when you talk to Candice, the conversation comes back to her clients. The recognition is nice, but the work is what matters. She built Eberhardt Realty on the idea that everyone deserves a fair shot at owning a home, and that a good agent is one who sticks around, answers questions, and does the work long before any commission check arrives.

After 14 years running her own minority-owned business and more than two decades in the industry, Candice remains committed to the same principles she started with. Trust, consistency, and genuine care for the people she serves. That is what has kept families coming back and referring others to her door.
