Most relationships aren’t failing because the love is gone, but because of unseen emotional wounds in need of healing. Through Sedona Soul Adventures, Debra Stangl and her husband, Richard Kepple, offer private, custom-designed transformational retreats for couples. By helping each partner heal what is beneath their recurring patterns and understand how to truly nurture one another, they guide couples back to trust, intimacy, connection, and a High-Vibe Relationship.
Early Careers And Finding A New Direction
Before she built a career on emotional healing and relationship advice, Stangl spent 20 years as a divorce attorney. She watched some clients go through two to three divorces, often marrying the same type of person. She realized that most people didn’t actually want a divorce; they just wanted the pain to stop. After a life-changing experience in Sedona in 1999, Stangl left her law career and embarked on 3 years of personal healing in Sedona, founding Sedona Soul Adventures in 2002. With a team of over 50 Master Practitioners, Sedona Soul Adventures has since helped thousands through the process of personal transformation and trauma healing.
For his part, Kepple’s career began in Silicon Valley, where he found mega success before suffering a stroke, an experience that changed his understanding of healing, consciousness, and relationships. After marrying Stangl in 2017, Kepple brought his business experience, scientific mind, and personal understanding of transformation to Sedona Soul Adventures, where the two now work together to help individuals and couples heal and create extraordinary relationships.
Together, they are on a continuous journey to learn and grow. As the leaders of Sedona Soul Adventures, Kepple and Stangl explain that their relationship’s vibrational energy impacts every part of their lives, including the work they do.
Addressing Emotional Wounds For Reconnection
Today, the Sedona Soul Adventures couples retreat and marriage retreat offer an opportunity for relationship transformation. These are environments designed for emotional safety, and they offer guidance toward love and healing. During these retreats, the Sedona Soul Adventures team aims to address the deeper emotional wounds and work toward reconnection.
For Stangl and Kepple, it is not just about relationships, but also healing, stating that, “Our message is deeply hopeful. We believe people are not broken, and most relationships are not failing because love is gone. More often, people are carrying unresolved emotional pain, nervous system patterns, protective behaviors, unmet emotional needs – what we call ‘gunk’ – that quietly sabotage connection underneath the surface.”
Building The High-Vibe System™
After marrying, Stangl and Kepple combined their unique backgrounds in emotional healing, neuroscience, spirituality, awareness, and conscious relationship work to co-create the High-Vibe System.
“Our work is deeply informed not only by our professional backgrounds,” Stangl said, “but by the healing, growth, challenges, breakthroughs, and transformation within our own marriage… We don’t teach perfection; we teach transformation.”
Stangl and Kepple’s new book, High-Vibe Relationship, blends neuroscience with practical relationship tools and the Nurturing Needs™ framework, providing a modern approach to love and connection.
Ambition For The Future Of Modern Relationships
Within the coming years, Stangl and Kepple envision Sedona Soul Adventures, High-Vibe Relationship, and the Nurturing Needs framework growing as a movement in relationship healing and transformation. Their dream is to help redefine the way that people think about love and relationships; not as something managed or survived, but as valuable partnerships that become catalysts for mutual growth.
