Michelle Rushing leads The Michelle Rushing Group at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Starck Real Estate, serving Chicago and the greater Chicagoland area with comprehensive real estate expertise spanning residential, commercial, investment and rental properties. The team of brokers (George Rosner, Saide Torres, Katy Pietrini, and Jeni Imparato) were recently honored with the Chairman’s Circle Platinum award for 2025, placing them in the top one percent of the global network. They also ranked in the top three in Illinois for the fourth quarter of 2025.

Backed by BHHS Starck Real Estate’s decades-long legacy of excellence and accreditations, the team specializes in all real estate services, from residential sales to commercial transactions and rental management. But for Michelle, numbers only tell part of the story. Her work is grounded in something far more personal.

Before talking about real estate, Michelle talks about her life outside of it. She is a mom of two children. Her son, Dawson, is a junior in high school, and her daughter, Addi, is a freshman at the University of Tennessee. She has been married for almost twenty years. She rescues all types of animals regularly, has two rescue dogs and a rescue cat. She has become the go-to person in her neighborhood whenever any type of animal is in trouble.

A Life Rooted in Community

Her list of volunteer work is long. She has coached baseball and softball, served as Baseball Commissioner, and held the roles of Vice President and President of Palatine Community Baseball and Softball. She has been PTSA president, head of administration for Palatine Football, team manager for multiple football and hockey teams, a Palatine Park District commissioner, a member of the Chiefs Hockey Board, a volunteer for the Fremd Booster Club, and a dog walker at local shelters.

“I love doing everything I can to try and make life a little better for everyone and everything,” she said. “That is why I love being a realtor.”

Integrity Over Commission

Michelle describes her approach to the business in plain terms. She puts people before paychecks. In an industry that can feel transactional, she has built her reputation on integrity, transparency, and relentless advocacy for her clients. She is not chasing the next deal. She is focused on the person in front of her.

“I am not motivated by convenience or commission,” she explained. “I am motivated by outcomes. I structure my business around my clients’ goals, timelines, and long-term financial success.”

That means having honest conversations, even when they are hard, and fighting for what is right, not what is easy. Real estate is not black-and-white. The gray areas, including negotiations, timing strategies, and creative positioning, are where experience matters most. Michelle studies every detail and explores solutions others might overlook to give her clients a competitive edge.

Understanding the Client

Michelle believes that good representation starts with listening. She takes the time to deeply understand the people she works with, learning about their lifestyle, concerns, and long-term vision. That knowledge allows her to anticipate needs before clients even articulate them.

“By knowing who they are and what they are working toward, I can guide with clarity and confidence,” she said. “It is not just about finding a house. It is about understanding what that house means for their life.”

Managing the Logistics

One of the biggest challenges her clients face is managing the logistics of buying and selling simultaneously. It is rarely just about the property. It is about timing the market correctly, understanding financing options, coordinating repairs and updates, and sequencing every step in the right order.

“Logistics happen to be one of my strongest skill sets,” Michelle said. “I build a clear, strategic plan from day one, helping clients determine whether they should sell before they buy, connecting them with trusted lenders and vetted vendors, and providing the data they need to make informed, confident decisions.”

From listing to closing, every detail is organized and proactively managed. Just as importantly, she delivers that strategy in a calm, steady way. Real estate can feel overwhelming, but Michelle and her team anticipate challenges before they surface, communicate clearly, and create structure around what could otherwise feel chaotic.

“The result is a streamlined, well-executed process where clients feel informed, supported, and fully in control of their next move,” she said.

A Team Built on Trust

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices is aligned with Berkshire Hathaway, which was named one of Fortune magazine’s World’s Most Admired Companies in 2025. Michelle sees this as a direct benefit to the clients she serves. The name carries a level of stability and credibility that matters in an industry built on trust.

The Michelle Rushing Group’s business is primarily referral-based, built on long-term relationships and the trust of past clients who confidently recommend them to their friends and families. They intentionally focus their marketing efforts on elevating their clients’ properties rather than promoting themselves.

Over the years, the team has grown to include bilingual Spanish-speaking representation, cross-state licensing in Illinois and Wisconsin, certified Luxury Collection expertise, certified staging consultants, and commercial real estate professionals. That depth of knowledge allows them to serve a wide range of clients at a high level while maintaining the personalized service that built their reputation in the first place.

“More than awards or growth, our long-term vision is to build a legacy brand rooted in trust, elevated standards, and generational relationships that extend far beyond a single transaction,” Michelle said.

Raising the Standard

For Michelle Rushing, disruption is not about being loud. It is about raising the standard. She adds value by combining integrity, urgency, and strategic thinking to deliver results her clients can trust. In a field where flashy marketing often takes center stage, Michelle has built something quieter and more lasting. Her work speaks for itself, one client at a time.
