Lori Kass is a Broker Associate at Coconut Properties FL Real Estate in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She has spent more than two decades in real estate, but what sets her apart is not just the years on her resume. It is how she shows up for her clients and the services she has built around their actual needs. Lori does not treat real estate as a numbers game. She treats it as a relationship. Every client who walks through her door is someone navigating a major life decision, and she takes that seriously. Whether they are buying their first home, an investment property, selling a property they have owned for years, or relocating from another state, she meets them where they are. Her approach is personal, hands-on, and rooted in the kind of care that only comes from someone who has experienced her own share of major transitions.

What She Does Differently

Most agents list a home and wait for offers. Lori does not work that way. Before a property goes on the market, she personally coordinates with handymen to make sure the home is move-in ready. She handles the repairs, the touch-ups, and the small details that buyers notice. She does not want a listing sitting because she did not do enough to make it shine.

Lori also runs a separate business called Beachtown Concierge. Many of her clients are second homeowners who live somewhere else for part of the year. They worry about what happens to their property when they are not there, especially during hurricane season. So Lori visits their homes weekly, checks that everything is secure, and makes sure the property is well-maintained. It exists because she pays attention to what her clients are actually anxious about.

How She Works With Clients

Most of the people Lori works with are relocating to the Space Coast from somewhere else. Some are escaping colder climates. Others are moving for work. Either way, they are starting fresh in an unfamiliar place, and Lori understands that feeling better than most.

“I have picked up and moved to new places my whole life,” she explained. “I care for my clients and want their experience to be successful.”

She does not just help them find a house. She helps them settle into a community. She offers suggestions, shares what she knows about the area, and stays in touch long after the closing.

A Life Shaped by Starting Over

Lori grew up in Aspen, Colorado, during the 1970s. After graduating from San Diego State University, she returned to Colorado and met her future husband. In 1992, they moved to Chile, where he was originally from. She spent ten years there, raising two daughters, running Mexican restaurants, learning Spanish, and becoming President of the International English Speaking Club of Iquique.

In 2002, she came back to Colorado as a single mother. Real estate fit her need for flexibility. She got her license at 40 and started building from scratch.

Then the 2008 recession hit. Lori lost her own home. She was a single mom watching the market collapse, but she kept working. She kept showing up. Slowly, she rebuilt. A few years later, she moved to Florida and started over once more. “My friendship circles have always been the single most important lifeline in my life and career,” she said.

Rooted in the Community

Today, Lori ranks among the top 200 Realtors in Brevard County out of more than 6,000 agents. She finished in the top 500 in 2024 and holds designations including Broker Associate, Property Manager, Power Agent, and C2EX.

She served on the board of Cocoa Beach Main Street for eight years as secretary. She currently sits on the board of her condo association, where her board oversees projects like reroofing, balcony reconstruction, and compliance with new Florida regulations.

She works alongside Pam Durkin, the Broker Owner of Coconut Properties, FL Real Estate. The two run a small boutique office in the heart of Cocoa Beach and volunteer together at local events through Cocoa Beach Main Street and the Cocoa Beach Art Show.

“I lead with integrity, care, and loyalty,” Lori said. “I use my own life experiences to help guide others in making transitions and decisions about life choices.”

After 23 years in real estate, surviving a recession, raising two daughters alone, and rebuilding her life in two different countries, Lori understands what it takes to start fresh. For anyone moving to the Space Coast and looking for an agent who will genuinely look out for them, she is someone worth knowing.
