In business, it’s easy to romanticize the grind. Entrepreneurs tell themselves that if they pour every ounce of their heart and soul into their company 24/7, they can build something amazing. That goes double for founders who know that, for better or worse, every success and failure of their company ultimately rests on their shoulders. There are even content creators who have made their living by telling people they could always be working harder. But here’s what the influencers don’t tell you: If you don’t care for your body as much as you care for your business, you’re just wasting your time. Take it from Jas Mathur, someone who made exactly that mistake and paid a high price.
Somewhere in the middle of growing his second business into a seven-figure-a-year titan, Jas realized he had been making a quiet sacrifice all along: his health. Before he knew it, he was 450 pounds and miserable. No amount of success for his company could make up for how awful he felt. To make matters worse, the negative feelings he had about his body started to seep into his work. The brazen confidence of a 20-something-year-old with a knack for business was replaced overnight with the fragile ego of a guy who couldn’t control his weight.
By the time Jas could afford the life he wanted to live, he wasn’t healthy enough to actually enjoy it. When he couldn’t even sit in his dream car as it idled in his driveway, he suddenly had a symbol for all his neglect. Without even realizing it, he had sacrificed his health for money. He knew it was time to put the focus back on himself.
It did not take long for the connections between weight loss and business to build in his brain. Working out became his new day job. He knew deep down that if he didn’t succeed here, no business he founded, company he built, or million he made would matter.
Jas brought to weight loss the same dedication he brought to work. It was the only way he understood to be good at something. The exercise—starting with daily treadmill runs—was grueling, and his diet was built on efficiency and sacrifice. It was all the pain and struggle of the early stages of building a business, now just directed inward instead.
Making that connection meant he knew he could lose the weight. Just as his businesses had grown steadily over the years, he began to shed the extra pounds and feel his confidence return. As he expanded his workout routine to include more traditional gym time and focused more on maintaining his fitness than building it from scratch, he started to regain hours in the workday, too.
When Jas finally looked in the mirror and saw the man he always wanted to be, inside and out, staring back at him, he knew he could never let himself slip again. He knew no matter what the sacrifices, he would always find time for his health. If there’s anything to take from his story, it’s that running a business—no matter how well you do it—won’t save your life. That part you have to do yourself.
Of course, losing this weight wasn’t the end of the fight for Jas. It can’t be. Like anything worth building in this life, Jas says that health is something you have to work at every single day.

“But it does get easier,” Jas says. “Routines sink into your brain and your muscles. Your body starts to understand the strain you’re putting on it. Eventually, your mind starts to yearn for the part of the day where it doesn’t have to worry about your next big meeting or an encroaching deadline, and only has to focus on the next rep. Before you know it, suddenly your workout is the hardest part of your day and clears your head for everything else that life or business can throw its way.”
Even with all the benefits, finding the balance and time for all this isn’t easy. For Jas, a new workout routine built around packing high-impact sets into a short amount of time has turned into a perfect answer. It’s as intense and challenging as any workout he’s ever done, but it’s also carefully designed to maximize his time. What’s more, the drive to strike this balance in his own life led him to found LimitlessX, a health and wellness brand built around helping anyone embarking on the same fitness journey he did. Even still, sometimes it can feel like there are barely enough hours in the day.
Jas Mathur’s journey from 450 pounds to wellness entrepreneur is a blueprint for anyone who’s ever sacrificed their health on the altar of ambition. His story proves that the same discipline that builds seven-figure businesses can rebuild your body, your confidence, and ultimately, your life. Because at the end of the day, your company can only ever be as healthy as you are.
“I know for a fact that my work today is better than the work I did when I was ignoring my health completely,” says Jas. “It’s more efficient. I feel better doing it. I get more done and I get better results. All because I started prioritizing my health. My body is the safest, surest, and best investment I’ve ever made.”
