After decades of watching Network Marketing companies rise and fall—often at the expense of the very people they claimed to empower—Brian McMullen has had enough. As a longtime advocate for distributor rights and former Vice President of the Distributor Rights Association, Brian has spent years working behind the scenes, observing the flaws in the system and protecting those caught in its wake.

But when the company he dedicated 23 years to suddenly shut down without warning—robbing friends and colleagues of their livelihoods—Brian knew it was time to step back into the arena. The result? Nueva—a new kind of Network Marketing company built from the ground up with one clear mission: protect the people and build something unbreakable.

In this Q&A, Brian opens up about his journey, the vision behind Nueva, and why now is the moment for real, lasting change in the industry.

Q: Brian, you’ve been a long-time advocate for distributors in the Network Marketing space. Can you tell us about your background?

Brian: I’ve been fighting for the rights of distributors since I was Vice President of the Distributor Rights Association—20 years ago. Back then, I even kept a list on my desk titled “the MLM graveyard,” tracking all the companies that would pop up and then disappear. Most of them failed due to either greed or incompetence, and it always hurt the people they promised to protect.

Q: What’s changed since those early days?

Brian: Honestly, not enough. The model is still broken. But I had stepped away from the spotlight for years. I was content working behind the scenes—metaphorically, fixing the engine in the garage instead of driving the car.

Q: So what brought you back into the industry spotlight in 2025?

Brian: The company I had been with for 23 years suddenly shut down—no warning, no communication. They closed the day before payday to avoid paying commissions. Just like that, many of my closest friends lost their income. That was the breaking point. I knew we couldn’t let this keep happening.

Q: Is that what led to the creation of Nueva?

Brian: Yes, but I say this clearly: I may be the founder of Nueva, but I didn’t create it alone. This company was built by a team—some of the most brilliant minds I’ve ever worked with. Honestly, it also feels like divine intervention played a part.

For starters, we’re self-funded. That means no private equity, no outside investors calling the shots. We’re committed to never letting someone who doesn’t understand or care about our industry decide the fate of our people. That financial independence is key.

Q: What’s the vision behind Nueva?

Brian: To create something unstoppable—something that can’t be taken away from the people who build it. We’re not just launching a company; we’re creating a real legacy business for anyone who joins us.

Q: How is the product side of Nueva different?

Brian: We’re building products around cutting-edge science—ingredients you can’t just find on Amazon or anywhere else, especially not at our price point. It’s not hype—it’s real science and real value. We want our distributors to have a product line that gives them real power in the market.

Q: What would you say to someone who’s always dreamed of doing something big in this space?

Brian: I’d say this is your moment. If you’ve ever had a dream of building something massive and truly unique—something the world hasn’t seen before—Nueva is the platform that can help you make that dream real. We’re just getting started, but the vision is already alive.

This has been the dream for so many of us in Network Marketing: a company that protects its people and helps them build something lasting. That’s what Nueva is. And it’s happening now.
