Founded in 2009, Kay-Twelve initially operated as an e-commerce platform, supplying school furniture. However, through numerous school visits and close observations, Stoller soon recognized that learning environments could play an important role in supporting educational outcomes, extending far beyond the simple provision of furniture. He realized that classrooms have the potential to inspire students and encourage dynamic, active learning. This insight led him to transform Kay-Twelve from a furniture provider into a design-focused organization dedicated to creating student-centered spaces. Schools across the United States now work with Kay-Twelve to implement flexible and innovative layouts that aim to promote student engagement, comfort, and adaptability.
Extending Impact Through Media and Collaborative Initiatives
Kevin Stollerās work isnāt confined to just physical spaces; he has leveraged various platforms to promote student-centered education on a broader scale. He hosts the Better Learning Podcast, where he engages in conversations with educators, designers, and leaders in education who are equally passionate about redefining traditional learning spaces. Furthermore, as the Board President of the Second Class Foundation, Stoller actively works to bring attention to the power of innovative learning spaces. In addition, Stoller founded the Education Leadersā Organization (ELO), a network that brings together education professionals and innovators who share his passion for student-centered spaces.
