CHANTILLY, VA – George Clay Landrith III, a distinguished leader in legal services, public policy and education, celebrates a lauded career marked by notable accomplishments. Since 1999, Mr. Landrith has served as the president and chief executive officer of the Frontiers of Freedom Institute, where he has made major contributions to public policy, lobbying, public education, public relations, crisis management and communications. These milestones have led to his recent inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who.

Professional Journey and Achievements

Mr. Landrith built his career on a solid academic foundation. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in political science, with minors in economics and Italian, from Brigham Young University in 1985. He earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1988. He is admitted to the bar in California, Virginia and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Mr. Landrith took on several key roles in the legal sector before leading the Frontiers of Freedom Institute. He worked as an associate attorney at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP from 1988 to 1990. Following this period, he practiced law in Charlottesville, Virginia, from 1990 until 1997, beginning as an associate before establishing his own law firm in 1994. He subsequently distinguished himself as vice president and general counsel for the National Legal Center for the Public Interest in Washington, DC, from 1997 to 1999.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Landrith has been an influential educator. Since 2001, he has instructed at the Campaign Leadership College. From 2000 to 2004, he was an adjunct law professor at the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University.

Leadership at Frontiers of Freedom Institute

Mr. Landrith has led the Frontiers of Freedom Institute in advancing its mission of promoting public education and advocacy. He has written extensively and conducted numerous media interviews to further the institute’s educational goals. He manages the organization’s operations and fundraising and collaborates with various corporations’ and membership organizations’ government affairs offices.

“My dedication to constitutional law and public policy has inspired many aspiring legal professionals,” says Mr. Landrith. “Exploring complex legal issues while supporting core democratic values is truly motivating.”

Mr. Landrith dedicates a key aspect of his advocacy work to missile defense and constitutional appreciation. He has organized conferences featuring prominent speakers, such as former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, to discuss national security and constitutional issues.

Publications and Civic Engagement

In 2024, Mr. Landrith published “Let Freedom Ring…Again: Can Self-Evident Truths Save America from Further Decline?” reflecting his commitment to educating the public on important issues. He has also served as a bishop for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a volunteer teacher at the Leadership Institute, a scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America and a coach for the Little League. Moreover, Mr. Landrith served on the school board for Albemarle County.

Reflecting on his impact, Mr. Landrith states, “I hope that my efforts in public education and civic engagement have made a lasting impact on our community. And I believe that leadership is essential to making a difference.”
