Everyone lives with day-to-day stressors. Jobs, bills, childcare, relationship concerns, and all of the responsibilities of being an adult can weigh on even the strongest individuals. Although people’s experiences may differ slightly depending on circumstances, most adults can agree that life can be overwhelming sometimes.

Holistic well-being can often feel elusive. Just when you believe you have one fraction of your life under control, something else pops up that needs your attention. Dr. Derek Price understands the challenges faced by high-performing individuals striving to gain balance and fulfillment in their lives. As a former NFL player, successful healthcare CEO, and leader in the CrossFit world, Price has maintained a high level of output and performance in his life for decades. Now, he has taken his unique blend of experience and formed The Faction Foundation, helping individuals find that all-important balance and fulfillment by leveraging the four pillars of faith, family, fitness, and finances.Ā

Coaching People to Success

Throughout his NFL career, Price gained a framework for success from being coached at the highest level of professional sports that he has found translates to other areas of life off the field. “I’ve used that framework as a coached athlete and my time as a doctor to create this high-level coaching program,” he explains.Ā

The program follows the athletic coaching structure with a comprehensive plan, playbook, assigned coach, and a team for support. “The magic element is that the team I have created provides a weekly huddle where accountability is high,” Price explains. “Real and raw is the mindset. Iron sharpens iron, making the program valuable and life-changing.”

The tribe of high-achieving professionals that The Faction Foundation has assembled is committed to helping one another achieve balance, a closer connection to faith, family, physical and mental health, and financial abundance. “When I watch people go through the program, I feel like I’m back in my glory days,” says Price. “I just had to bring a good attitude and effort, and the plan, playbook, and coach led me to a world of success.”

The power of four — like the legs that steady a table — is used throughout the program. “Just like a table needs legs to be sturdy, your life requires balance to prevent things from falling apart,” says Price. These four pillars of faith, family, fitness, and finance are themes that run through every part of the program. “You are the table, and life sits on top,” Price says.

Everything begins with faith, which the program considers the act of aligning actions with one’s deepest values and beliefs to achieve a deeper meaning and purpose. With family, Price coaches people to nurture the relationships that uplift and motivate them. No one is an island; one needs their family at home and their professional family to support them. Fitness is an essential pillar for Price personally. As a significant contributor to the CrossFit world, a leader in the mental health counseling space, and a doctor, Price knows well that the pursuit of holistic physical and psychological well-being allows people to perform at their peak. Lastly, Price and his team help people find financial stability, giving them the knowledge to develop financial intelligence that leads to abundance.

The four pillars are optimized within what Price calls the 4XF system, designed to help people reach transformational growth. Through four phases, the interconnected pillars allow people to unlock their full potential. The four phases — the assessment, playbook, huddle, and camp — mimic the approach of a sports team, which was wildly successful for Price.

With the comprehensive 500-point assessment, clients have their current state evaluated, establishing a clear baseline, and areas for growth and improvement are identified. The personal analysis that results serves as the foundation for the journey through the program. From there, a playbook is designed that acts as one’s roadmap to success. Using a gamified points system, the playbook outlines specific goals, actionable steps, and daily micro-habits, allowing clients to build points as they complete tasks and develop positive habits to enhance their lives.Ā

Throughout the journey, clients participate in huddles that allow them to commiserate with like-minded professionals and coaches. These huddles, like those on the football field, provide accountability, support, and the opportunity to strategize. The final phase is camp, where participants can deepen their understanding of the program and methodology, forge powerful connections with others, and come away with a renewed sense of purpose.Ā

Price is confident that The Faction Foundation is going to change lives. “My background allows me to provide people with real, transformational coaching versus other programs that sell smoke in place of substance,” he says. Through the framework of professional sports, Price is giving people the opportunity to change their lives for the better. “I believe no one should settle for a life of imbalance and untapped potential,” says Price. Through this holistic approach, he is allowing others to discover the pathway to lives of abundance and purpose.
