He shares, “Over the years, I came to value the kind of knowledge it takes to keep complex systems running. That experience showed me just how meaningful a career in the trades can be.” A period of personal reflection later influenced Lindquist’s decision to build a company with a clear intention. Facing significant health challenges, including a severe case of COVID-19 as an asthmatic, and coping with the loss of his mother, prompted him to reassess his priorities and think more deliberately about purpose. Business ownership became a way to align Lindquist’s work with his values, especially his belief in treating people with dignity. “I asked myself what kind of business I could put my name behind,” he says. “The answer always came back to people over profits.” That philosophy continues to shape how Upper Echelon Electrical Services structures its workforce. The company maintains a lean, experienced core team and supplements it with agency partnerships when projects call for additional reach or specialized expertise. This approach offers flexibility while helping maintain cohesion and keeping crews aligned with company values even as they support geographically diverse projects. Selective hiring and contracting help reinforce this balance, with projects chosen based on fit for both the work and the people performing it. Beyond project work, Lindquist dedicates time to mentorship, including outreach to individuals navigating significant life challenges. “I’ve always seen the trades as a real path to stability, growth, and excellence in your work. And when people talk about automation or AI, I remind them that skilled electrical work is built on adaptability and real-world problem-solving. I believe that’s not going anywhere,” he remarks. Today, Upper Echelon Electrical Services continues to evolve with intention, guided by its motto, “Don’t talk about it, be about it.” Growth is approached thoughtfully, with an emphasis on craftsmanship and alignment between values and actions. Through its focus on material-handling electrical work and its people-centered philosophy, the company demonstrates how technical expertise and human consideration can progress together.
