Johnathan Dodds, who is known as Professional Wrestling’s Johnathan Holliday, is a wrestler from the 80s, the 90s and 2004. He competed in various territories, such as Charlotte, North Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia (NWA) with The Road Wars, Sione Atu Latue, the ‘Barbarian’ and Johnny Ace, worldwide.

The National Wrestling Alliance

He was also part of the NWA in Charlotte; he used the name Dexter Westcott in Atlanta for Ted Turner. He wrestled against the World Champion Ron Garvin, Curtis Thompson, Larry Stevens, Chance McQuade, Lex Luger, Nakita Koloff, Ivan Koloff, Paul Jones, Jim Crockett Jr, Jackie Crockett, David Crockett, Francis Crockett, Johnny Weaver, Sandy Scott, Dusty Rhodes, Dory Funk Jr, Gary Royal, George South, Hector Guerrero and Mitch Snow. Here, he also got to work with the Manager Jim Cornette with Beautiful Bobby Eaton, Dennis Mcondry, and Stan Lane and was also trained by Ricky The Dragon Steamboat. The Four Horsemen consisted of JJ Dillon, Ric Flair, Lex Luger, Barry Windham, Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard. Gene Anderson and Nelson Royal trained Johnathan in the National Wrestling Alliance.

The Stampede Wresting

The championship that made Johnathan Holliday a famous wrestling name was Stampede Wrestling in Calgary. Stampede Wrestling was founded by Stu Hart in 1946 and played a massive part in the wrestling careers of Holliday and others of his time. Holliday got to fight against big names, such as Bruce Hart, Ross Hart, Brett Hart, Referee Wayne Hart, Gama Singh, Gary Albright, Owen Hart, Biff Wellington, Johnny Smith, Chris Benoit, Brian Pillman, Stu Hart, Dynamite Kid, Davey Boy Smith, Karl Moffit (known as Jason The Terrible), Gerry Morrow (The Champagne Man), Makahn Singh, Jason Anderson, Shynya Hashimoto, Kerry Brown, Jim Davies, Ed Whalen (color commentators) and Brick Bronsky.

World Grand Prix Wrestling

Johnathan Holiday has participated in different promotions throughout his wrestling career. One of the biggest promotions among them was World Grand Prix Wrestling. In this contest, he competed against the likes of Bulldog Bob Brown, Rip Rogers, Tokyo ‘Masa Chono,’ the Great Malumba, Dino Ventura, Referee Ron Gogan and ‘Stomping’ Paul Peller. Ron Hutchinson (better known as the Intelligent and Sensational Masked Thunderbolt) and several others. He also had matches against Leo Burke, who was the World Champion in wrestling, and he boxed Johnathan from Moncton, New Brunswick. Johnathan even boxed The Great Evon Durrel, he was a 1950s boxer, against Sugar Ray Robinson, who was the Champion in boxing. In the World Grand Prix Wrestling Circuit, his primary opponents were Buddy Wayne, Promoter Emile Dupree, Sasquatch, Sailor White (the Original Moondogs), The Beast and Rudy Diamond.

Continental Wrestling Federation

Moreover, he has also shown his wrestling prowess (Continental Wrestling Federation) with Austin Idol, Terry Gordy, Black Bart and Co-Host Charlie Pratt in Birmingham, Alabama.

World Wrestling Council

He also won the World Wrestling Council (WWC) Junior Heavyweight Championship title back in 1991 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, winning the World Wrestling Council Junior Heavyweight Championship from Ricky Santana. He also wrestled with Abuda Dean, Sadistic Steve Strong, Chicky Star, The Profit, Jose Gonzalez, Carlos Cologne, Victor Jovica and Abdullah The Butcher, The Batten Twins, Hugo Savanavich, Megilito Perez and Megalito Castillo in the World Wrestling Council. Jonathan Holiday started his wrestling career off with Pemberton High School. In South Jersey, he wrestled with two-time NCAA National Champion and two-time State Champion in New Jersey, Darrell Burley, along with two-time State Champion in New Jersey Orlando Caceras, who won the Silver Medalist in the 1984 Olympics. Throughout his career, Holliday has portrayed various characters and has been known for his entertaining persona and his in-ring capabilities.

Portland Wrestling

Along with Pacific Northwest in Oregon (NWA) in Portland Wrestling, Len Denton, The Booker, Jeff Warner, Art Barr as Beatle Juice, Scott Norton, Al Madril, Scotty the Body (Raven), Brian Adams, Russ Francis, Rip Oliver and his son Larry Oliver, Don Koss (color commentator), Veronica and Ginger. Tag team partners Rex King and Steve Doll, along with Billy Jack Haynes.

World Wrestling Federation

Johnathan was brought into the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) by JJ Dillon. Howard Cinco picked him up from the airport in Indianapolis. As soon as he entered the building at the Square Arena, Hulk Hogan stormed up to him and yelled, "What are you doing here?" Johnathan calmly replied, "Well, ask Vince." Shortly after, he met Gene Okerlund, and Davey Boy Smith greeted him outside near the back, welcoming him to the WWF (World Wrestling Federation). The Road Warriors, who had originally got him into the wrestling business, were there, along with Dusty Rhodes and his son Dustin. They seemed either unhappy to see Johnathan or were just keeping to themselves. Later on, he caught up with Buddy Rose, an old friend from Portland Wrestling and his former tag team partner. Despite Hogan’s outburst, he wasn’t in the building for more than three minutes before Buddy and he were whisked away. They ended up on stage with Gene Okerlund, who essentially managed Buddy. Buddy took the microphone and started bragging about his "blow-away diet," which was absolutely hysterical. Johnathan was then invited to Stamford by Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson. It was incredible—there, he met John Filippelli from the Baseball Network, who invited him to brainstorm ideas in his office. Barry Horowitz even came by and asked Johanthan what he was doing there, saying, "You can do whatever you want." Around that time, he had just had a huge brawl with Dynamite Kid in Calgary, so he approached Vince and Pat, saying he was not in the mood to fight anyone else. Vince simply said, "You’re going to have to work it out with the boys." That’s when Johnathan decided it was best if he just left. Johnathan was a Marine from South Jersey and was not afraid of anyone, but he didn’t see the point in unnecessary fights. So, he returned to Portland from Stamford, Connecticut, leaving behind the drama of the WWF (World Wrestling Federation).

Achievements Outside the Ring

Holiday has been widely celebrated for his achievements within the ring, but his life journey has been equally remarkable outside of it. Outside of wrestling, Holliday pursued producing and has worked on several short films, feature films, and dramas. Johnathan was an actor in the movie Cops Are Robbers on NBC with Ed Asner, Ray Sharkey, George Kennedy and the movie Murder COD Micheal McDonald and Mare Winningham on the USA Network in 1991. Among these was “Big Bucks for Buddha,” a notable title that bagged the Director's Guild of America Award. Interestingly, he worked as a producer with his ex-Jodi Lane for this project at the University Of Southern California Film School with thesis chair Mort Zarcoff, who also trained many directors that made some of the biggest films in the industry, Geroge Lucus, Steven Spielberg and Robert Zemeckis were a few of them. However, he never graduated from college. Despite that, Johnathan Holliday worked with NBC, Fries Entertainment, and the USA Network on several feature films. He also happened to work with Emmy Award-winning director John Filapelli in the WWF. Aside from being a wrestler and producer, Johnathan Holliday has served in the United States Marines. He also owns the business known as OfficeSupplyStore.com, which was able to compete with well-known office supply superstores such as Office Depot and Staples. However, Johnathan Holliday is now stepping into the ring of authorship with the book series “The Gods of Dodds.”

The Gods of Dodds- A Personal Story Based on True Events

Johnathan Holliday is gearing up to launch his book series “The Gods of Dodds.” It is a fictitious story based on some true events from his life. It is a drama story that takes you through his wrestling journey and other aspects of his life. The life journey is depicted in a captivating tale with the political and military backdrop. Besides, the story also takes you through Holliday’s romantic interactions in his life. The book series has two volumes, and it covers how the superstar wrestler transitions into different roles throughout his life. The book series also depicts Holliday’s connection with God. It shows how the strong belief in divine power actually helped him achieve incredible feats in the ring as well as in other personas.
