Recommended Reading For Executives and Entrepreneurs – John Latta’s “The Synchronicity of Love: Stories that Heal, Transform, and Awaken”

At this time of year, the story is the same. Some of you may have worked right through the holidays (because, as anyone who has done it knows – being an entrepreneur or working with a startup isn’t a 9-5). Others may have been lucky enough to take a breather from work and spend time with family. Whatever the situation, we know that most readers of CEO Weekly are dealing with some of the same thoughts at this time of year. They are looking back at some of the successes and failures of the last year. While some might feel they deserve congratulations, others might be judging themselves, feeling like they just didn’t measure up, feeling stuck. At the same time, they may be considering the goals and possibilities the new year might – or might not – bring.

For those responsible for leading companies, responsible for strategies, results, and the bottom line while making decisions that affect the welfare and security of employees and their families, it can be overwhelming.

Sometimes the most valuable thing you can do is to step back, to consider things differently, to change your perspective – and the dawn of a brand-new year might just be the best time to do it.

Though it has lessons that anyone from any walk of life will find value in, “The Synchronicity of Love: Stories that Heal, Transform, and Awaken,” by Redmond, Washington-based John David Latta, is a book that every CEO, particularly, should read.

While thinking about work and the workplace, unfortunately, we don’t always consider how our co-workers, fellow executives, and subordinates alike might be dealing with things – and we often try to hide our own struggles and challenges.

John David Latta has been there – and he isn’t afraid to talk about it. And talk about it, he has – Latta has been on a whirlwind virtual tour of international interviews – from Australian and British TV to dozens of American podcasts – and beyond.

It all started with his fascinating book, The Synchronicity of Love: Stories that Heal, Transform, and Awaken, published in March 2022.

Today, Latta, the former founder and CEO of a multimillion-dollar consumer products company, is a mystic, an author, and a teacher.

He tells the story of how just three months after making the decision to sell his business and leave the corporate world, “the global pandemic hit and caused massive disruptions in the supply chain and logistical headaches far beyond anything anyone in our industry had

ever had to deal with. I was so happy that I listened to the nagging inner voice that said it was time to sell (my company).”

In the book, Latta shares the incredible path that brought him there, unafraid to lay open his feelings and the insights that resulted from all he had been through.

“I share a lot of stories in this book that are of a spiritual nature – things that take place in dreams and visions and other states of consciousness,” Latta says. “But I am also living this human life wherein I am also a dad and try to weave the wisdom I glean into this human life. I am grateful for all my spiritual experiences as well as for simply being a dad.”

It’s a fascinating journey – and one with takeaways that we all can use.

Latta says one of the most difficult things for him personally to learn through it all was “Compassion. Even for great leaders. Even for myself. This was a difficult lesson for me.”

Latta also shares how he began to incorporate his spiritual transformation into being CEO of a large corporation: “Mostly, I began to listen to my intuition in all areas of my job. I began to speak to employees and suppliers in a more honest, vulnerable, and compassionate way”.

“Sensitive people have not often had a place in the business world. Now they do. John’s book is the link”, says In Service To the Heart Center leader Jacqueline Bayne.

“It sometimes seems I have become a random accidental mystic dreamer and that the wide spectrum of dreams sometimes creates as many questions as there are answers,” Latta says, “but my life is immeasurably richer because of them.”

Your life will be richer, too, if you read and apply the lessons in this book.
