As a recipient of the SIA New Products and Solutions Video Analytics category award, RaptorVision’s team was very excited about the reception to the major product enhancements of its platform by this year’s attendees. “We expect significant customer and partnership announcements coming off the success of the show,” said Chris Olson, RaptorVision’s head of Business Development. “Given the tailwinds generated by both ISC West and NRF Protect, we are spending our time meeting with numerous Retail Operators as well as Partner Prospects.” RaptorVision is a purpose-built, event-based product engagement software platform company born from a sheer passion for surveillance and security. The company integrates patented video analytics and data collection, increasing employee safety and operational efficiency of retail operators while preventing theft and decreasing the rising crime rates nationwide.

NRF Protect is a retail security event that brings together asset protection, fraud prevention, cybersecurity, and risk management professionals to discover new ways to protect their business. RaptorVision’s ability as an Integration Platform allows it to solve challenges not only in Asset Protection but Retail Operations as well. “This year is different from previous NRF Protect conferences,” said Paul Gain, President of RaptorVision. “We have been continually gaining traction and also received recognition for our behavioral analytics that we have been building for three years. This year, we are focused on an expanded suite of analytics and introduced AI use case modeling, an integrated VMS as well as a mobile App to address multiple retail use case scenarios to cross the finish line first, presenting the far-reaching benefits of our retail event-based product engagement and real-time notification system.”

RaptorVision’s innovative platform collects important product engagement data in real-time that can be easily aggregated and integrated with other enterprise business intelligence and retail systems, significantly improving existing technology flow and return on investment. Currently, the company focuses on enterprise retail operators and has plans to roll out to the SMB market in the future.

Analyzing product engagement activities in real-time, RaptorVision designed a detection system that alerts employees of any potential shoplifting while deterring would-be offenders from committing shoplifting and organized retail crime (ORC). The innovative system carefully examines the product-engagement behavior of customers and how they interact with products. This data, in conjunction with the platforms’ rules-based engine, provides valuable insight into potential theft and other customer shopping activities.

The mold-breaking company and solution suite offers more than excellent crime and ORC detection and prevention. Providing the platform with plug-and-play integration to many existing technology investments, RaptorVision also helps retail operators maximize the opportunity to respond to various in-store events. The event-based product engagement platform captures product-related activities, collecting data about the way customers interact with objects on shelves. This allows business and marketing use-case scenarios to be developed based on information straight from the source, increasing strategic effectiveness, profitability, and success.

Real-time push notifications and live mobile viewing of event-related activities enable employees to take appropriate action. For instance, if RaptorVision captures a customer comparing products a few times, a RaptorVision alert notifies retail workers, allowing them to approach such clients and offer assistance rapidly, resulting in a satisfied customer and a completed sale that otherwise may not have happened.

Promoting safety in the workplace, RaptorVision alerts on-site employees before a crime is committed from a safe digital distance, allowing them to follow company operating procedures as applicable to the immediate situation. By preventing unwanted interactions, RaptorVision improves the security of retail workers and customers.

Gain emphasizes that most retailers have not yet maximized the opportunity to successfully integrate between existing systems for real-time data sharing, resulting in significant after-the-fact labor-intensive searching for key information and video evidence. Designed to specifically address these needs, RaptorVision provides an easy-to-use platform with single-sign-on (SSO) between integrated systems that notifies on-site employees in real time, allowing them to communicate with each other effortlessly. Additionally, it allows nearby retail store locations to exchange information, warning each other of potentially harmful activities and for management reporting purposes.

“On-site video storage is one of the largest IT investments, and most security cameras record anything that moves all the time, making it almost impossible to readily identify relevant, meaningful activity from historical footage, let alone in real-time,” said Scott Mullins, RaptorVision CEO. “RaptorVision’s platform captures only relevant behavioral activity, which is linked to triggered events, greatly reducing the overwhelming volume of data storage, research time, and associated expenses thereof.  Data storage strategy may vary from one organization to the next and the RaptorVision hybrid cloud/on-prem model can be configured to most any IT organization’s needs as well.”

“The current retail situation presents many issues in the industry, and many businesses are understaffed, especially at night, which further fuels these problems. Not only does that create an environment for crime, but it also increases the chances of not noticing clients looking for sales assistance,” added Mullins. “Trying to surveil a retail space and react to events around the clock is a daunting task. RaptorVision enables people to be everywhere at once, empowering retailers to be proactive about various in-store activities from anywhere in the world, and we were excited to share our vision at the NRF Protect 2024 event.”
