30TH June 2025 – Mr. Mawla is the founder and CEO of Walks of Dubai, the company was open in 2012 with a singular mission: to reveal the hidden, historic side of Dubai. While many tourists know the city for its luxury and skyscrapers, Mr. Mawla’s vision is to showcase the soul of old Dubai—the heritage, culture, and stories that often go unexplored. Through Walks of Dubai, he brings travelers face-to-face with the authentic roots of the city.

Education & Career Journey

Mr. Mawla graduated from the University of Cairo in 2010 with a degree in literature, poetry, and ecocriticism. After completing his studies, he moved to Dubai and began his professional journey as a sales executive at Wonder Bus Tourism. Within six months, he transitioned to Green Way Tourism, where he rapidly rose through the ranks to become branch manager and, eventually, general manager, all within a year.

His drive for growth took him to Germany, where he pursued further studies in nutrition while working part-time as a translator and in the food industry. Even during his time abroad, Dubai remained close to him, and he continued researching the city’s cultural and historical landscape.

Upon returning to Dubai, Mr. Mawla joined Dnata as a tour guide, where he played a key role in designing routes for the City Sightseeing Bus. He pitched an idea to include guided walking tours through the old parts of Dubai. Although the proposal was initially declined, the experience reaffirmed his conviction that a career in tourism was his true passion. So, he started working on his idea and put all his struggles on to his vision.Ā Ā 

Turning Vision into Reality

Refusing to let his idea fade, Mr. Mawla took a bold step and started Walks of Dubai on his own. Without mentors or a clear roadmap, he relied solely on his passion, perseverance, and self-motivation. He earned his tour guide license, conducted in-depth research, and began exploring and curating routes that offered unique, immersive experiences through historic Dubai.

Overcoming Challenges

Starting a business solo in a competitive market like Dubai is never simple. Mr. Mawla took on multiple part-time jobs to support his dream financially. Despite the obstacles, he remained focused on the core values of Walks of Dubai: creativity, authenticity, innovation, and quality.

He is deeply committed to ensuring every guest has a great experience, which is why he takes every review seriously, constantly striving to maintain the high quality that Walks of Dubai is known for. That is the thing that makes Walks of Dubai different from other that is quality matters over quantity.Ā 

Leadership & Philosophy

Mr. Mawla leads by example. He’s a humble, hands-on leader who motivates his team both professionally and personally. Always open to new ideas, he encourages innovation and nurtures a collaborative work culture. His personal quote, ā€œChase success, not money,ā€ guides both his life and business decisions.

A passionate advocate for wellness and balance, Mr. Mawla stays physically active through regular gym workouts and enjoys cooking in his limited free time. His favorite cuisines include Arabic, Indian, Italian, and Pakistani dishes.

Looking Ahead

With a clear vision, Mr. Mawla aims to place Walks of Dubai among the five travel companies in Dubai before he turns 40. Given his determination and the strength of the team he’s built, this goal is well within reach.
