The world is once again in the expedition era. This time around, however, people aren’t taking galleons into new territories. Instead, they’re using non-fungible tokens and the blockchain ecosystem to conquer the metaverse, which experts now say will become the next phase of digital evolution. Looking to capitalize on that growth, a new NFT collection called Mutant Mingos plans to give its owners fractions of land in this new universe of endless possibilities.
A decisive differentiating factor to this upcoming NFT collection’s mints is its creators’ promise on its website for future metaverse land ownership. Starting at 15% of the overall minting capacity, the company will start purchasing land in ecosystems like Sandbox and Decentraland. Currently, the team of creators and developers has already published a fifty percent pledge from secondary trade royalties for metaverse real estate purchases, which the company will then fractionalize and redistribute to its decentralized autonomous organization (DAO).
DAOs have become a staple in NFT collections across the blockchain network. These formalized groups serve as a voting body for future developments and a layer of transparency and decentralized control. As for who will become a part of the Mutant Mingo DAO, the founding group has promised that anyone with an NFT mint will automatically become a part of the decentralized governing body. Accordingly, this also means that everyone with an NFT mint will also receive fractions of the metaverse properties that the executive group will purchase from secondary sale royalties.
The Mutant NFT collection features 10,000 digital artworks embedded in units of Ethereum. Each artwork features a mutated flamingo, sporting a level of intricacy that hasn’t been seen among mutant NFT since the Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFT collection, which has now hit over $377.76 million in market capitalization since its release. The most high-priced Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFT has gone for a price tag of 335 ETH, or roughly $200,000. “There are a few other well-known Mutant projects in the NFT space, such as Mutant Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Cats, which are both amazing in their own ways,” shares one representative from the founding club. “Mutant Mingos would be closest associated with Mutant Apes with wild, intriguing attributes that will astonish any and all collectors.”
The NFT artworks feature a dynamic and fun approach to over 120 unique mutations that serve as the individual artworks’ differentiating attributes. These traits come together in various ways to create over 10,000 of the unique caricatures of the Mutant Mingo clan.
The Mutant Mingo official website has announced that official minting will begin on December 13, 2021, at 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. By then, avid collectors and aspiring investors can start minting a unique NFT from the lot and receive a random artwork in their Mutant Mingo, which they will be able to view on their OpenSea accounts.
Fifty percent of the secondary sale royalties will also go into a fund that will help power the project’s roadmaps, programs, and marketing, to ensure token longevity and holder security. As part of their long-term plans, the token’s founders also hope to develop an original metaverse for Mutant Mingo NFT holders.
