Highly sought-after publicist and communications savant Heather Holmes was always attracted to conscious capitalism and how enterprises might help improve the world. This was one of her favorite subjects at the Fund for American Studies Institute of Philanthropy and Voluntary Services at Georgetown University, which she attended in 2010, and it stuck with her even after she graduated. Though she did not know it yet, this fascination would put her on the path to creating Publicity For Good, her award-winning, disruptive PR firm specializing in serving purpose-driven CPG brands that make an impact.

Heather began her career as a publicist fresh out of college in 2012, working with high-profile brands like Panera Bread and even NBA players. While this may seem like the happy ending to years of studying, for her, it didn’t feel like enough. Heather wanted greater freedom to manage her time and, more than that, to promote the voices that would contribute to society at large. These were the first seeds of Publicity For Good.

These seeds would grow later in 2016 when Heather founded her firm with her then-boyfriend Austin under a simple premise: to provide purpose-driven businesses with high-end PR services that naturally built their authority and aligned them with media opportunities that fit their goals for impact and growth.

That meant playing the long game, hand-picking channels aligning with her client’s message. The result was that businesses fighting the good fight, making good food, medical care, and environmentally friendly products more available, were now getting a chance to speak in some of the biggest media outlets out there instead of just the industry goliaths everyone knows.

Her methodology earned PFG a client list of over 300 purpose-driven brands in the food, beverage, health, and beauty sectors that have found success in their space. A noteworthy case was their work with Flying Embers.

In 16 months of work, Publicity For Good scored 88 live links for Flying Embers, reaching 699 million people; some of the outlets that featured the kombucha company include Forbes and the New York Times.

Flying Embers earned a total Publicity Value of $926,000, and the company occupied 84% of the hard kombucha market.

Heather would eventually be nominated for Forbes’ ā€œ30 under 30.ā€ PRNEWS would also include her in the 2021 list for ā€œTop Women in PR Entrepreneurshipā€ and the 2021 Platinum CEO of the Year award. She’s also made guest appearances on several noteworthy news outlets including FOX News, Business Insider and USA Today, among many others for her inspiring work in celebrating and helping purpose-driven brands achieve impact.

As a firm, Publicity For Good would also receive the O’Dwyer’s Best PR Firm for CPG Brands award, the Bulldog PR Awards Gold Small Agency of the Year, both in 2019, and the Bulldog PR Awards Bronze Midsize Agency of the Year prize for 2021.

Yet, as impressive as all the awards and titles may be, Publicity For Good boasts the right to measure its success through the number of lives that have been positively affected because of their work.

An excellent example of this impact comes from their work with Australian family wellness brand NATPAT. Publicity for good secured NATPAT over 90 million new media impressions over the span of 5 months, thus helping parents improve the life quality of their children on a mind boggling scale.

Whenever someone gets access to cheaper healthcare or better food, or there’s just that much less trash polluting the environment, Heather and her team can know they had a part in it, and that is the award a PR company can possibly ask for.Ā

Heather gives purpose-driven business the chance to make an even larger impact in the world. Heather and Publicity For Good are just within arm’s reach through their website or social channels like Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and XĀ  because, in all likelihood, Heather and her team will want to meet you as well.
