Imagine a serial entrepreneur so successful that he has already launched companies in a wide variety of industries. Now, imagine he has decided to make his wide-ranging entrepreneurial expertise available to others.Ā
That is the actual story of Michael Harte, Jr., whose diverse ventures have proven his business knowledge and skill, and who is now prepared to share his prowess with the world.
The making of a serial entrepreneur
Harte started his first business as a young child while living in the low-income neighborhood of Black Mallet in the city of Castries, on the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia. His mother introduced him to the concept of earning, and his father compounded that by giving him an allowance of $5 per week. However, his father took that money away when he came home with a B average one day.Ā
āHe explained I wouldnāt receive that allowance until I started bringing home some A grades,ā Harte says.Ā
Having that money withheld ignited Harteās entrepreneurial spirit.
āSomething inside me clicked,ā he remembers. āI realized kids generally donāt like what’s in their lunch boxes, so I started selling what was in mine to them. At that point, it dawned on me that I made more in a day than that weekly allowance, so I concentrated on that, made a lot of money, and never brought home that A grade.ā
Harte was only in Kindergarten at the time.
Acquiring a wealth of knowledge and skills
From this early start in the food and beverage industry, Harte went on to sell his artwork, origami, and other things to his classmates. At 16, he graduated from high school as valedictorian before taking a seasonal position in the Ministry of Education, followed by a more permanent one at a telecommunications company.
āThings took off when I became the Sales Executive for the Sandals Halcyon Resort in Saint Lucia, one of many in the Sandals Luxury Resort chain,ā Harte says. āBy this time, I was 17 years old. Courtesy of Sandals Resorts International, I traveled the Caribbean and received extensive training in sales and customer service.ā
Subsequent roles enabled Harte to amass a wealth of knowledge and skills in diverse industries, from underwriting and luxury retail to digital media. But he also had a more important goal for himself ā to become an entrepreneur.
A successful entrepreneurās first companies
āI told my peers at 15 years old that by the time I was 23, I would have my own business, and so I did,ā Harte says. āI started with a point-and-shoot Kodak camera, going door-to-door in my neighborhood and offering family shoots.ā
After developing a mastery of computers, software, and other electronics, Harte started his first official company, I.M.A. Solution, which stands for IT, Marketing, and Architecture Solution. He then invested in barbershops and started a dog breeding business.Ā
Yet Harte wasnāt done. He went on to create an LLC called Island Connex that produces travel publications and an e-commerce company, Motive Beats, which sells instrumental music, or ābeats,ā to aspiring songwriters and artists.Ā
Before the age of 30, Harte had made his first million dollars. Despite all this success, however, his business philosophy emphasizes the importance of failure.
Redefining successĀ
āMy definition of success is based on an understanding that failure is a precursor of such,ā Harte explains. āSuccess is relative. My definition of success is getting up after the knockdown and at least kneeling upright before you stand and climb again.ā
According to Harte, he has ālost everything more than onceā in his impressive career. āIāve endured rollercoasters of events and financial hardship,ā he remembers.
These experiences have taught him the value of failure, and he now mentors others based on his pathās lessons. āThe key is not to succumb to defeat,ā he says. āInstead, master the ancient adage ā āknow thyself.ā Stop to quiet your mind, change your mindset, and return to your own unorthodox view of the world.ā
How Harte helps others achieve their own dreams
Harte not only teaches others how to be a fearless, perseverant, persistent, resilient, and courageous entrepreneur but also provides a living example.
āI host both open and private webinars and workshops that educate people on the benefits of mindset development and manifestation, multiple streams of income, wealth creation using AI and digital platforms, leadership skills, sales, and more,ā Harte explains.
Harte aims to inspire other prospective entrepreneurs in developing countries, especially those from his own homeland.Ā
āTwice every year, I select four aspiring entrepreneurs from my home country for a six-month-long comprehensive mentorship,ā Harte explains. āIt consists of one-hour sessions over three days in which we cover different tactics in mindset development, sales, idea generation, branding, and marketing. We also cover strategies for using AI tools and finance tips for diversifying investment portfolios, increasing revenue streams, and scaling their businesses.ā
In addition, commencing August 9th, 2024 and extending over the next 12 months, Harte will begin launching a series of seven ebooks that he has authored on his website. Titles include āThe Ten Commandments of Wealth,ā āThe 12 Disciples of Investments,ā āRise and Thrive: The Entrepreneurās Playbook to Success,ā āThe Three Kings of Profit,ā āPsychology of Wealth,ā āThe Perfect Pitch,ā and āThe Power of Agreement: Mastering the Art of Negotiation.ā
āThese books will give readers perspective, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, allowing them opportunities to grow,ā Harte says. āThey are not extensive reads ā I designed them to be powerful, insightful, and to the point. There will also be audiobook versions.ā
Starting August 25th, 2024, Harte will also debut the pilot of a series of podcasts entitled Vanguard Capitalist.
āVanguard Capitalist will also feature posts on debt management, revenue development, entrepreneurship, digital and traditional marketing, branding, finance, social media and digital advertising, and leadership on the Michael Harte Jr. website and social pages,ā Harte says. āThe first wave of posts will be released between July 22 and August 1.ā
If all that wasnāt enough, Harte is also developing a series of online courses to help people master the secrets of successful entrepreneurship. Subjects covered include wealth creation and preservation, effective leadership strategies, best practices for leveraging AI, and using social media to propel your brand. According to Harte, these courses will become available during or before the fall.
The real legacy is inspiring others
Although Harte might look like a business titan, he wants people to understand that, underneath it all, heās just a man.
āNot just a man with a story of pain, hardship, loss, bravery, love, and resilience,ā he says, ābut a man with a story of gratitude. Before I leave this world, Iād like to leave it just a little better than I found it by helping others. The real legacy is not in financial wealth, but in the minds youāve inspired to create a better future.ā
