These are the inspirations behind Whittaker & Bull, a home décor company that is bridging the interior design gap in the market with luxury pieces of art at an affordable cost. The company was founded by Demi Visnick, an award-winning designer and a graduate of SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design). The female designer runs the company as the CEO and is tasked with providing original designed products alongside emerging artists.
Demi has been in the design industry for 14 years. She has worked at the famous shoe design company- Reebok and taught fashion design in New York City. Demi ventured into full entrepreneurship four years ago, pioneered several businesses, and sold one of them to a publicly traded company in 2019.
To close the gap in the interior design space, Demi established Whitaker & Bull in 2020 and has been in product development for two years to create an original, one-of-a-kind product. The passionate designer observes numerous ways to elevate your interior space, from creative lighting to themed paint selections. But, nothing can bring a room together and give it that dashing appearance than a piece of luxury art.
According to Whitaker & Bull CEO, this is the reason behind their latest product in the market – luxury art candles. “If you are obsessed with candles, this is a perfect art to project who you are to everyone who enters your room,” shares Demi. The unique art piece is made up of a lid that fits into your candle’s bottom so you can use it as a stand. In addition, the product comprises customized glassware and molds while having a 360-degree waterproof label. “You can throw it in the dishwasher, get it wet and it will not get ruined. The art is the decor so we knew it needed to be wrapped completely around the candle vessel,” adds Demi.
Sharing about how the journey to develop the product has been, Demi, a CFDA+ award winner for menswear & textiles, believes that consistency has played a key role in its success. She also emphasizes the place of being passionate about what you do, putting in a lot of hard work daily, being patient, and being resilient. “Do one thing for your business every day. Small steps get you far and accomplishing something as small as buying a domain can be enough to move the needle.”
Demi looks forward to making a difference in the luxury candle industry and hopes to see her brand make top chart retailers such as Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus. She disclosed that more products are developing, and the collections are improving. “Whitaker & Bull will be a go-to place for authentic luxury home decor products. It’s the perfect place to find gifts for your loved ones,” declares Demi.
