Growing up in a highly impoverished area of Louisiana did not stop her from hitting the mark or setting the bar high for her aspirations. She shifted from an environment ladened with no resources, limited opportunities, and limited finances and pivoted away from negativity. She stepped out on faith after moving out of her comfort zone in Louisiana and went to the big city of Detroit, Michigan, to live with her Aunt Gladys. During that time, she successfully mapped out a plan for social elevation.
