Las Vegas has grown from a dusty desert outpost into one of the fastest-expanding cities in the country. That’s good news for many, but there’s a downside, too. Growth brings risks. More cars share the road, more hotels and casinos place more strain on the hospitality workforce, and more construction means more accidents at building sites.

For more than 55 years, Tingey Injury Law Firm has represented the residents and workers caught in the fallout of Vegas’ growth, and the firm’s own history has become a family story spanning three generations.

A Firm that Bloomed in the Desert

Don C. Tingey grew up in Utah but traveled east to earn his law degree at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Five of Tingey’s 12 children were born in Washington, and he balanced school with a job at an insurance company. That job planted the seed for his future as he worked alongside plaintiffs’ attorneys and developed great empathy for accident victims.

After law school, Mr. Tingey moved west to be close to family and friends, including the late Harry Reid (who went on to become a U.S. Senator from Nevada). Tingey hung out a shingle for a personal injury firm, and the practice that started as a one-man show grew to include a few dozen staff members, including five accident attorneys serving Henderson, Summerlin, and Las Vegas.

Today, Tingey Injury Law Firm stands as one of the oldest and most respected personal injury firms in Las Vegas and has helped tens of thousands of Nevadans recover compensation for medical bills, lost wages, property damage, and pain and suffering after accidents caused by others’ negligence.

A Legacy That Outlived Its Founder

Don C.Tingey’s contributions to Nevada’s legal community did not go unnoticed. In 2006, the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association gave Tingey its Badger Award for consistently going above and beyond the call of duty. In 2017, the Nevada Justice Association honored him with its Lifetime Achievement Award.

Mr. Tingey passed away in 2024, leaving behind the business he nurtured. Today, that business continues to thrive under the direction of two of Tingey’s sons, Bruce and Dean Tingey.

Two Sons, Two Grandsons, One Mission

Bruce D.Tingey earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in 1988 and his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 1991. With 32 years of experience litigating personal injury, wrongful death, and workers’ compensation cases, Bruce has built a reputation as one of the valley’s most formidable litigators.

Dean M. Tingey also attended Brigham Young University before earning his Juris Doctor from Gonzaga Law School in 1997. Dean brings 27 years of experience handling personal injury, car accident, and trucking accident claims.

Two grandsons have also joined the practice, including Oliver, who earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and Wesley, who earned the same degree from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota.

“Something changes when you’re in this as a family,” said Dean Tingey. “It’s not just a job. It’s our legacy. We’re committed to treating every client with the respect that this firm was founded on. We treat our clients like we would our own family. Their case matters, their finances matter, their families matter, and their recovery matters.”

The firm is notable for its peaceful transition of leadership after Don Tingey passed away. Family businesses often struggle to survive a founder’s departure, but Tingey Injury Law Firm seamlessly continued offering the same trustworthy representation that Don Tingey offered from day one.

Keeping Up With Growth

As Las Vegas expands, so does the need for legal representation. The firm’s Las Vegas work injury attorneys continue to handle a steady stream of workplace accident claims as new job sites open across the valley. Tingey’s Las Vegas lawyers for premises hazard injuries represent patrons harmed at venues from casinos to resorts to sports stadiums. And the firm’s car accident attorneys serve victims who have been hurt on Vegas’ crowded roads and freeways.

Protecting Every Corner of the Valley

Tingey Injury Law Firm connects victims with the right medical specialists, helps them gather the most compelling evidence to support their case, and advocates fiercely for a fair settlement. If one can’t be reached, they defend their clients in court.

“Injuries change everything,” said Dean Tingey. “They can unfairly throw someone’s personal life, family life, emotions, and finances into a tailspin. We handle the heavy legal lifting so the victim can focus on recovering and moving forward.”

From Vegas to its suburbs, Tingey Injury Law Firm is raising the bar on safety by holding negligent parties responsible and making sure victims get full protection under the law. The work that Don Tingey started back in 1969 continues to gain momentum.
