Alchem Chemicals has introduced a patented electrical adapter that rotates and slides 360 degrees, converting electricity to accommodate multiple devices without obstructing adjacent outlets. The Swivel & Slide adapter, developed by veterinarian-turned-inventor Dr. Alon Almouli, will debut at CES 2026 in Las Vegas as the company pursues distribution agreements with hardware wholesalers, hotel suppliers, and automotive accessory retailers across American standard markets.
The device has secured IEC Standard certification for use in the United States, Canada, and other countries utilizing American electrical standards. Manufacturing partners have confirmed production readiness, and the company reports interest from a major wholesaler. The adapter enters a global power adapter market valued at $11.17 billion in 2023 and projected to reach $19.3 billion by 2030, driven by increasing demand for energy-efficient designs and multi-functional accessories that reduce reliance on disposable plastic components.
Dr. Almouli developed the adapter after observing widespread frustration with traditional power accessories that block neighboring outlets, cover electrical switches, and contribute to wire clutter. His solution consolidates the functions of multiple adapters into a single unit, allowing users to connect several devices to a single socket without purchasing additional power strips or extension cords.
Targeting Commercial Buyers in a Shifting Market
Alchem Chemicals has identified hardware wholesalers, hotel electrical appliance suppliers, nursing home and car accessory retailers as primary customers for the Swivel & Slide adapter. Hardware chains, including Walmart, Home Depot, and Ace Hardware, are key targets. These retailers serve residential customers increasingly concerned with space constraints and wire management, particularly in home office environments where multiple devices require simultaneous charging and power access.
“We are offering wholesalers and retailers a solution that fills a genuine need,” Dr. Almouli said. “The Swivel & Slide adapter provides value to end users while creating a compelling product line for distributors and suppliers who serve diverse customer bases.”
The hospitality sector represents another strategic opportunity. Hotels face unique electrical infrastructure challenges as guests arrive with smartphones, tablets, laptops, and wearable devices that require charging. The Swivel & Slide adapter’s rotating mechanism allows for flexible positioning in guest rooms, lobbies, and conference facilities where outlet access is limited, and aesthetics matter. The adapter offers a lower-cost alternative to installing additional outlets and USB charging stations, which require significant capital investment.
Nursing homes and elderly care facilities also represent a growing market for the adapter. The elderly population continues to grow, and residents rely on mobile phones, tablets, and laptops to communicate with family members who may live far away. The adapter’s easy-to-use design accommodates multiple devices simultaneously, making it practical for seniors who need accessible charging solutions without complex setup.
Car accessory shops represent a fourth market segment. The adapter’s compact design and adjustable angles make it suitable for in-vehicle power management, particularly in cars equipped with AC outlets, as well as for camping and mobile office setups.
Economic Value for Budget-Conscious Households
The Swivel & Slide adapter addresses practical economic considerations that extend beyond convenience. By consolidating multiple functions into a single certified device, consumers avoid the cumulative cost of purchasing numerous wired adapters, power strips, and extension cords over time.
“When households need to connect multiple devices, they typically end up buying several adapters with wires, which adds up quickly,” Dr. Almouli noted. “Our adapter eliminates that repeated expense by handling multiple connections from a single socket. It is a smarter investment for anyone looking to get more value from their electrical setup.”
The consolidation of multiple adapters into one unit also reduces the volume of plastic entering households. Each Swivel & Slide adapter replaces what would typically require several separate plastic components, directly lowering plastic consumption.
“The environmental impact of electrical accessories is often overlooked,” Dr. Almouli said, āMillions of plastic power strips and wired adapters are manufactured and discarded every year. By creating a single adapter that does the work of multiple products, we are reducing the plastic footprint while offering consumers a more economical solution.”
From Veterinary Medicine to Product Development
Dr. Almouli’s background in veterinary medicine provided an unconventional foundation for his work as an inventor. His training in diagnosing complex health problems in animals translated into a methodical approach to identifying and solving practical engineering challenges. After securing patents for the Swivel & Slide mechanism, he pursued rigorous testing and certification to meet international electrical safety standards.
The IEC certification process confirmed that the adapter complies with safety and performance requirements for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Manufacturing partners have confirmed readiness to begin production, and early interest from a major wholesaler has validated the product’s market viability. The company plans to focus on the United States and Canada before expanding to other American-standard markets in Latin America, the Caribbean, and select regions in Asia and the Pacific.
The CES 2026 presentation in Las Vegas represents a pivotal moment for potential buyers. “We are bringing a patented, certified, and manufacturing-ready product to an audience that values innovation and practical solutions,” Dr. Almouli stated. “Our goal is to establish partnerships with distributors and retailers who recognize the long-term value of a product that reduces waste, saves space, and improves everyday electrical access.”
The adapter’s versatility makes it suitable for diverse environments, from residential kitchens and home offices to hotel rooms, conference centers, and vehicle interiors. Dr. Almouli emphasized that the adapter’s value extends beyond individual consumers to the commercial buyers who will ultimately determine its market success.
āJust look for the adapter with the torch symbol,ā he said.
