AP Accounting and Tax Services, led by founder Alexis Paul, CPA, is celebrating the first anniversary of its Greenwich premises, which opened in August 2024. Moving into its second year, the office marks a significant milestone in the firm’s growth, reflecting Paul’s vision of a client-focused and solution-driven approach to accounting.
“I wanted to create a space that was accessible, comfortable, and inviting,” says Paul. “Accounting and taxes can often be sensitive and crucial topics to navigate. It was important to me that clients feel at ease the moment they walk through the door. Instead of making a space that feels cold and bureaucratic, I wanted it to feel warmer and welcoming.”
Located on Greenwich’s centrally located Putnam Avenue, the office features convenient parking, modern design, and a hospitable atmosphere that combines professional functionality with a relaxing, homely environment. From contemporary art to high-end furnishings, every element has been carefully curated to offer clients a unique experience, contrasting the typical tax office setting.
While offering in-person accounting services, the firm has the ability to provide a fully remote experience with video conferencing and electronic filing, which allows them to work with clients throughout the United States.
Since opening its Greenwich location, AP Accounting and Tax Services has expanded its team with plans to potentially grow further. The office enables Paul to work closely with her team, train staff on-site, and meet clients in person, providing a more personalized, hands-on service than was previously possible during her remote operations.
Paul’s journey into accounting is rooted in both family legacy and professional excellence. Inspired by her father, who was a successful CPA, she developed an early understanding of client service and financial stewardship.
After earning her psychology degree at the same university where she excelled as a volleyball captain and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame, she further pursued her MBA in accounting at a prestigious New York college and earned her CPA license. Paul also spent time as an auditor at one of the Big Four accounting firms, gaining corporate experience before she chose to transition into independent consulting and eventually founded her own firm.
AP Accounting and Tax Services distinguishes itself through a forward-thinking approach to client care. With a predominantly female clientele of entrepreneurs and professionals, Paul focuses on providing clarity, education, and long-term financial strategy. “I work to ensure my clients understand their tax situation and have a plan in place so they’re not caught off guard later,” she explains. “The goal lies in effective forecasting, planning, and ultimately helping them save as much as possible on their taxes. That’s the core of what I do.”
The firm’s new Greenwich office embodies this philosophy, making appointments and document submission seamless through digital tools and virtual appointments, while offering an in-person environment where clients feel supported and understood. Paul’s combination of technical expertise, client empathy, and innovative office design exemplifies her mission to refresh the image of accounting, making it approachable, modern, and solutions-oriented.
Reflecting on the milestone, Paul says, “Opening this office has allowed us to grow, train a strong team, and provide clients with a space that’s both high-end, professional, and yet comfortable. Here, we are able to elevate the experience of accounting for our clients and ourselves, while staying true to our commitment to every client’s financial well-being.”
