Brand building is an art and a science. Itās knowing a brand, understanding its audience, and building a bridge to connect the two. Itās also understanding what isnāt working, as well as how to elevate what has been working and bring it into the future. Itās a special kind of alchemy, and when successful brands want to get it right, they turn to creatives like Byron Regej and his team at R&CO.Ā Ā
Regej & Company (R&CO) is a brand experience and creative company focused on developing and editorializing strategic content to help brands create more authentic connections with consumers.
āWe help educate and shape brands from the inside out on how to authentically show up to their customers by focusing less on brand story and more on the brandās unique point of view. What are you trying to say, and how are you saying it?ā explains Byron on how he and his company approach their work. āThe value we bring is our ability to articulate the brandās truth and bring it to life across all consumer touch points. Our clients have told us that once we help them to share their brand perspective in a way that is inspiring, timely and accessible, the results are impactful and speak for themselves.ā
Born in Australia and raised in New York, Byron began his career in magazine editorial, directing photoshoots and spearheading magazine rebrands. Byron led graphic and editorial design at top magazines like GQ, The Vogue Group, Marie Claire, Los Angeles, Playboy, and CondĆ© Nast Traveler for over 12 years. Byron also spearheaded the CondĆ© Nast Traveler in-house brand studio, which focused on leveraging an editorial construct to create unique brand partnership opportunities through original content, campaigns, and digital takeovers with luxury advertisers, including Bottega Veneta, Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co, to name a few. In 2015, Byron received a marketing award at CondĆ© Nast on behalf of his team for gaining the most digital revenue for the firm with over 40M in sales under the broader companyās leadership of Anna Wintour. At Marie Claire, Byron was brought in to work closely with Fashion Director at the time, Nina Garcia, to reposition Marie Claire. Under his leadership, Byron helped pivot the brand to focus on empowering women in the workforce, as well as bringing in younger, diverse talent to contribute to the fashion pages of the magazine to provide a strong point of view.
Byron has worked on both the brand and agency side, working with finance, healthcare, entertainment, beauty, tech, and luxury lifestyle brands. Following a 15-year career in both capacities, Byron decided to go solo and founded Regej & Company. The objective was to establish a company that would act as a true creative partner for brands. Different in structure and values, Byron prioritized working on meaningful creative projects that make a difference in the communities it impacts. In December of 2021, Byron and his team ideated and executed an event for Amazon Studios that highlighted the need for more diversity of LGBTQ+ creatives in the tech world. The event was crucial in helping to build Amazonās reputation and ties with local artists in the Los Angeles community, but the message was spread through Amazon globally. Most recently, Regej & Company was the creative force behind Metaās Social Cause Campaign Toolkit, providing creative direction and bringing together global artists, including a Ukrainian artist who had fled the country during the war.
Regej & Company is less of an agency and more of a brand partner anchored in the collaboration and transparency that comes with brand-building. Today, R&CO editorializes brands through strategic content and visual curation. Byronās leadership, influence, and marketing eye guide all elements of the companyās work. He has a reputation for being hands-on as a leader, owning and leading the creative process on all projects from concept to execution, overseeing visual communications, brand identity, packaging, creative operations, digital design, video, social media, experiential and event design.
As companies become more aware of how their brand is able to meet the Zeitgeist, Byron helps educate and guide brands to speak to real cultural moments using emotional depth, truth, and empathy, and of course, always delivering agile execution at every part of the process.Ā
Regej & Company has produced redesigns and cause-worthy work for noteworthy clients, including Amazon, A+E Networks, Peloton, and most recently, Meta. Regej & Companyās true value proposition lies in their approach to the creative process: show, donāt tell.Ā
For Byron and his team at R&CO, itās on with the show.
