Dr. Jacqueline Ambush, doctor of nursing practice and pediatric nurse practitioner, has been included in Marquis Who’s Who. Dr. Ambush, specializing in pediatric and adolescent medicine, also leads Ambush Pediatrics and Family Medical Clinic. With more than 30 years of experience, she remains committed to providing health care to the Baltimore community.
Since Dr. Ambush took over, Ambush Pediatrics has supported many families in the region. Established in 2014, the clinic has expanded to include a team of family nurse practitioners and psychiatric nurse practitioners. “We now have a team of three doctors and nutritionists on board. I do not plan it. It’s the need of the community that drives these changes,” says Dr. Ambush.
Community-Driven Care and Leadership
Dr. Ambush developed her passion for pediatrics during high school through volunteer work, and this interest has shaped her entire career. This dedication led her to become one of the first pediatric nurse practitioners in Maryland to open a solo private practice. Dr. Ambush is known for her commitment to her patients, particularly children, and she is often recognized for her attentive care.
“I believe the care I provide is both high quality and compassionate,” Dr. Ambush says, reflecting on the challenges and rewards of running a clinic in today’s healthcare environment. She focuses not only on treating illnesses but also on supporting the overall well-being of her patients, an approach that resonates with many.
Expanding Services to Meet Community Needs
Dr. Ambush is expanding the clinic’s services to include substance abuse counseling and psychiatric care in response to the growing needs of the Baltimore community. These additions reflect her commitment to meeting the comprehensive health needs of her patients. “What I aim to do with every platform is to understand and support the human spirit. It’s something that can overcome many challenges,” Dr. Ambush says, explaining her vision for the clinic.
Beyond her work at the clinic, Dr. Ambush is also involved in community engagements and educational mentoring. Her contributions to nursing are recognized through her affiliations with organizations like the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau, the international honor society of nursing.
Reflecting on her inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who, Dr. Ambush says, “I am honored to be recognized among such respected professionals. This recognition motivates me to keep pursuing excellence in my field and to make a positive difference in the lives of my patients and community.”
