As Aimee Ravichandran reflects on her journey from a psychology student to an award-winning book marketing expert, she acknowledges the many twists and turns along the way. “I fell into this field,” she explains, recounting her initial plans to become a clinical psychologist. Yet over 12 years in the industry, Ravichandran has carved out her niche helping authors achieve bestseller status and recognition.

Today, Ravichandran has assisted over 150 authors in hitting Amazon’s bestseller lists. Her innovative approach and unbeatable dedication even earned her honors like “Innovative Women Changing the Face of Business” and “Promising Female CEOs to Watch Out For” in 2022.

Discovering Her Calling

After earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UTSA, Ravichandran seemed destined for a career in clinical psychology. But shortly after graduation, she landed an internship opportunity that set her on a new trajectory.

“I began working with Houston known Sandy Lawrence, former CEO of Perceptive Public Relations. That’s where I began to learn the ins and outs of social media and book marketing,” Ravichandran explains. Under Lawrence’s mentorship, she swiftly rose through the ranks to become Vice President. Three years ago, when Lawrence retired, she handed the reins of the firm over to Ravichandran.

From this serendipitous start, Ravichandran uncovered a genuine zeal for helping authors market their creative works. “I love authors…the world would be such a boring place without their art and creative stories,” she effuses. The psychology background that once seemed destined for counseling now fuels her knack for forging heartfelt author-reader relationships.

Cultivating Flexibility and Connection

In the 12 years since embarking on this journey, Ravichandran has made flexibility and authentic connection the cornerstones of her approach. “We are flexible and aren’t trying to break anyone’s bank account,” she explains. “We want your book to be successful like you do.”

This emphasis on flexibility paired with genuine care for supporting authors’ dreams has fueled stunning growth. To date, Ravichandran’s firm Abundantly Social has helped over 150 authors reach Amazon bestseller status. Her unique blend of marketing savvy and psychological insight offers authors and small presses an invaluable competitive edge.

Yet, she remains humble in the glow of accolades. “So many people have played a role in my success,” she reflects. “I am truly grateful for every encounter I’ve had in this line of work.” This spirit of gratitude grounds her continued drive to keep reaching for bold entrepreneurial heights.

The Balancing Act: Blending Business, Passion, and Family

As a mother of two young daughters, Ravichandran has also learned the importance of balance. “A day in my life is all about balance,” she explains. This means scheduling meetings around her daughters’ activities and reserving weekends for family time.

As her firm continues gaining renown, Ravichandran emphasizes the importance of balance. “I wake up before my daughters to get emails answered and eat breakfast. Then it becomes a juggling act once they awake,” she explains of her busy mornings.

Ravichandran structures her day with care to interleave business meetings and her daughters’ activities. “We try to take weekends off for family time,” she adds. By fiercely protecting family time while fully engaging her passion for supporting authors during working hours, she models invaluable time management skills for aspiring mompreneurs.

What’s Next – Helping Authors Realize Their Publishing Dreams

As Abundantly Social continues gaining momentum, Ravichandran has bold plans for the future – a new publishing imprint, Plum Creek Press. Through this imprint, she aims to provide authors yet another vehicle for bringing their creative visions to eager readers.

No matter what heights her firm and its imprint reach, however, her core motivation remains unchanged. “My family and also the authors I work with…I want to be a part of making their dreams come true with their books. That only happens if I show up,” she shares. This unwavering commitment to showing up with her full passion, enthusiasm, and psychological insight is what drives her continued success.

Rather than resting on her laurels, Ravichandran continues pushing her company in new directions while staying grounded by deeper motivations – the chance to aid writers in bringing creative visions to life. With resilience, flexibility, and her unique brand of advocacy, Ravichandran has carved out her niche, helping authors thrive. Though she may not have predicted this career path, she has certainly found her calling.
