Yash Varma, CEO of Empress Capital, On Why Artificial Intelligence Funds Are So Exciting Right Now
Share on Facebook

What Is Artificial Intelligence & Why Is It So Exciting

When it comes to artificial intelligence, there are a lot of mixed feelings, says Yash Varma of Empress Capital. Some believe artificial intelligence will take over the world and put humans out of jobs. Other people (investors in particular) think that artificial intelligence will help humans become more efficient, productive, and healthier. There are also those who believe that artificial intelligence will do both.

Yash Varma is excited about AI as he says there’s no denying that artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly prevalent in our world. He believes that AI will be as significant as the internet has become in everyone’s lives and touch almost every aspect of day-to-day activities. This, in turn, will create incredible opportunities to profit from new technology poised to revolutionise the world.

Unique opportunities for investors in artificial intelligence

In recent years, artificial intelligence has made significant strides through improvements in computing power, data storage, and cloud computing. Today, AI is used in various industries, including retail, agriculture, real estate, security, and healthcare. There are now many tools and foundational AI models that can be built upon, which will significantly increase the speed at which startups can solve problems. And as AI continues to evolve, investors will have even more opportunities to cash in.

Artificial intelligence’s potential to disrupt traditional businesses is one of the most exciting things about artificial intelligence. For example, AI can automate tasks that human workers currently do. This can range from planting trees to designing buildings that comply with planning permissions.

AI is also being used to develop new products and services. For instance, AI-powered chatbots are being used to provide customer service and support. And in the future, AI may even be used to create entirely new products and services that may not even exist in people’s minds today.

Enter Empress Capital, the brainchild of serial entrepreneur Yash Varma

Empress Capital is one of the new breed of funds specifically targeting artificial intelligence companies. It was the only Australian firm to graduate from the Silicon Valley run VC Labs Cohort 5 program, a three-month program designed to help early-stage VCs bring their vision to the world.

The fund has already identified several opportunities in Prop-tech, Ag-Tech, and Cyber Security, which Varma believes will change the AI landscape globally.

Changing the world, one AI investment at a time

Empress Capital is eyeing $20m in short-term fund-raising, but aims over the long term to build a special and unique venture capital firm that achieves outsized returns within a disciplined framework of ethical responsibility.

Empress Capital is in a league of its own with its focus on artificial intelligence companies in Australia and New Zealand, which have seen the emergence of titan tech companies like Atlassian and Canva.

The focus on AI allows the fund to target companies at the forefront of AI development and commercialization. Additionally, the fund has access to a network of AI experts who can provide guidance and advice to portfolio companies.

Motivated founders and serious investors can learn more and apply at www.empresscapital.vc.
