Infecting Change Productions (ICP) is making waves in the entertainment industry with a groundbreaking new distribution deal. Founder JP Haynes, a visionary in the world of film, television, and theatre, has secured partnerships with global giants like Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and HBO Max, among others. This marks a significant milestone for ICP and paves the way for unprecedented opportunities in content visibility, streaming, revenue, and creative control for independent artists, producers, and directors.

A Journey of Resilience and Innovation

JP Haynes successfully launched ICTV, a global streaming network, in 2020. Despite facing challenges with failed tech deals and investors, which led to the network’s shutdown, Haynes never lost sight of her vision. She pivoted back to content production, continuously pushing boundaries and setting new standards in the industry.

Infecting Change Productions, a Mississippi-based LLC, was founded in 2016 by Haynes. This was followed by the launch of ICTV in 2020 and IC Theatre Co., a boutique theatre house, in 2022. With this new distribution deal, ICP is set to provide unparalleled opportunities for global content visibility and streaming.

A New Era of Distribution

This landmark distribution deal opens up a world of possibilities for ICP. It allows for collaboration with and offers global distribution in film, television, music, podcasting, and books. Television and film distribution will be available through a host of platforms including Netflix, Disney+, Peacock, HBO Max, Hulu, Paramount+, Apple TV, BET+, Amazon Prime, Tubi, YouTube TV, Sling, Pluto TV, Samsung TV, RokuTV, Firestick, and AppleTV, among others. This extensive network ensures streaming in over 10 million homes from the US to China.

The deal also includes partnerships for music and podcast distribution through Sony Music Distribution and Global Podcast Distribution, reaching 750 digital platforms across 350 countries. For book publishing, distribution includes hardcover, paperback, and audiobook formats with major retailers like Barnes & Noble, Amazon Books, and Books-A-Million. Additionally, AMC Movie Theaters will provide a platform for film distribution in over 100 theaters worldwide. Sony and iHeart will support the marketing side of distribution.

JP Haynes: A Visionary Leader

Reflecting on the journey, JP Haynes shares, “In short, this provides such a unique opportunity and incredible access for us and our partners. In 2019, we secured and subsequently lost a distribution partner. Selma: The Untold Stories Miniseries was slated to be released on Hulu, Apple TV, and other platforms, but our aggregator at the time dropped the ball. I was still green in the industry and didn’t fully understand the world of distribution. The deal the aggregator negotiated for us then was neither a good nor lucrative opportunity. Ultimately, that deal fell through. Truthfully, the loss of that distro opportunity was one of the driving factors causing me to launch ICTV. Securing this opportunity now, nearly five years later, is a kind of full circle.”

Haynes adds, “When we built ICTV, our mantra was often, ‘there wasn’t a table, so we built one.’ We would always talk about wanting a seat at the table, but what quickly I learned is a seat at a table with no voice at the table is an imaginary seat. It doesn’t afford independent creators, especially independent creators of color, the same opportunities some of our mainstream counterparts may have access to. These types of opportunities allow us to level the playing field, creating quality content, not only walking through unprecedented doors but holding those doors open. I want to flood those doors with opportunities. I want to engage as many people as possible on this journey. No one makes it alone – I certainly didn’t make it this far in this industry without a force of brilliantly talented people and a team holding me up. I want to continue creating new relationships, collaborations, and opening new doors. This distribution opportunity will allow me to do that.”

Haynes also emphasizes, “The ability to merge and marry the worlds of film and theatre has always been a focus of mine. So many amazing productions have already mastered this concept and ICP intends to do the same. We want to be considered one of the elite and premiere production companies in both worlds. I believe this distribution opportunity gets us much closer to continuing to build those bridges.”
