Disney World’s much-hyped 100-room “Star Wars” Galactic Starcruiser hotel has not sold out, Disney’s availability calendar shows.

Guests can choose their “voyage” dates on the official website through the second half of 2022, but there are vacancies for almost every day in August, September, October, November, and December. There are also voyages still available in June and July, including some weekends. 

The availability details were last updated on Saturday, 11:16 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, according to the “start planning your voyage” page of the website.

The hotel opened on March 1 and was marketed as an immersive Star Wars experience. A two-night stay is the minimum requirement for its starting price of about $5,000 for two adults and nearly $6,000 for three adults and one child. The booking includes admission to Hollywood Studios to visit the Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge on the second day.

While reviews are generally positive, most reviewers observed that people who aren’t willing to immerse in the experience wouldn’t find the hotel worth booking, as the hotel was designed to replicate a galactic cruise liner called the Halcyon. This means that the lodgings are small, and the rooms have small windows looking out onto a screen displaying outer space. Reviewers have often called it a “windowless bunker” and “suburban junior high school built in the mid-1970s.”. It also does not have the usual amenities of a $5,000 hotel, such as a pool and spa.

But there has been steady praise for the cast that the guests meet in the hotel, including Rey, Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, and cruise ship workers who encourage them to fight for the resistance and accept secret missions. Reviewers say the outrageous cost is for the experience, not the hotel itself.
