Stryker the Cat Goes Crypto

The fun-loving cat that is widely known across Instagram and TikTok for his love for raw chicken has taken his talents to the Blockchain. Stryker the Cat, widely beloved across social media, is taking his talents to the Non-Fungible Token (NFT) landscape for a good cause.

Many across the social media landscape aren’t entirely familiar with his story and just how he rose to internet fame. Stryker was born in Ohio of all places and during his early days spent long hours in a cage. As a Savannah cat destined to grow to very large size and have energy of even greater proportion, this type of lifestyle wasn’t very suitable for him. On a road trip back to Southern Florida, Stryker’s owners responded to an advertisement looking to place Stryker in a new home. Stryker’s soon-to-be new parents knew this was a sign that they needed to take him in. They made the detour on the way home, grabbed this fun-loving kitten, and began the trek back to their home in Florida.

From that day forward, Stryker and his playful demeanor have taken to the internet and shared his life with millions of people across the internet and around the world. Stryker has become a household name for his love of raw chicken, a treat that he doesn’t hide his love for.

As time has gone on and Stryker’s fame has increased, his owners have looked for ways to give back to cats that were in a similar situation to Stryker. This is where the great idea to ride the new wave of NFTs came to their mind as the perfect avenue to help Stryker raise awareness for other furry friends who are in distress.

In the quickly evolving world of Blockchain technology, NFTs have become the latest crypto craze. For those unfamiliar with what an NFT is, it’s an image or motion graphic with a unique identifier that gives the image a certain uniqueness that standard images don’t possess. The best way to think of this is as if someone were to own an original piece of art. Although someone could take a picture or try to create a print, the original owner is still the only holder of that original piece of art. This is the same as an NFT; each person who owns an NFT can be the only owner of that specific piece of art. This has caused certain NFTs to sell for millions of dollars on the secondary market. Given that crypto and NFTs as a whole are in their virtual (literally and figuratively) infancy, many early adopters have been the beneficiaries of great financial gain. Although financial gain is not a certainty as any investment can be volatile, thousands have turned to this form of virtual art as a new form of investment.

Identifying this new form of virtual art, Stryker’s owners thought it would be an amazing idea to allow people to purchase a unique piece of art to feel connected to Stryker. They set out to create unique pieces of art to sell in honor of Stryker’s seventh birthday, which was celebrated on October 16. Their goal is to sell 8,888 NFTs to raise money and donate a portion of the proceeds to the Zoological Wildlife Foundation located in Miami, Florida. The hope is that the money raised from the sales of the NFTs will go to help animals in similar situations as Stryker once was and give them the life that they deserve.

The sale of the NFTs is the first in a long line of different ways Stryker aims to leverage his online fame in order to help his furry friends. Stryker hopes to do different collaborations with other online famous animals in order to keep the attention on other animals in need and raise awareness for animals that are less fortunate to him.

You can also find Stryker on Instagram and TikTok, as he shares his happy life and love for raw chicken with the rest of the world.
