Space Shibas, the Latest NFT Craze to Launch on the Digital Space
Share on Facebook

The past decade has seen the epoch of technology move society forward, creating alternatives to cash in the form of cryptocurrency. Developed around the same time were non-fungible tokens or NFTs, collectible tokens similar in nature to cryptocurrency. However, despite being created around the same time, NFTs did not reach the same popularity until earlier this year. Since making the waves on the digital space, many brands have sprung forth, including the upcoming project Space Shibas.

Space Shibas are part of a CC0 or creative commons project, which means that holders have free reins to do whatever they please with as the shibas are free of copyright. The project was inspired by Rare Pepes, another NFT project that utilized the viral Pepe memes. However, while they both pay tribute to popular figures on the internet, Space Shibas is a project that not only creates cute, pixelated drawings of the beloved canine but also tells a unique story that sets itself apart from other projects.

The lore behind the project states that 10,000 Space Shibas have found themselves wandering and getting lost in the vast pockets of the universe, and the only way to bring them back home to earth is by minting them. “Each mint has enough capacity to beam down 10 Space Shibas at a time,” explained the Space Shibas team.

With a unique lore established, Space Shibas most visible asset is its illustration. While there are countless 2D pixel collections and derivative “doge” projects, none of the brands have a pioneer of meme community curated economies at the helm, especially one as prolific as finestrares.com. Although Rare Pepes have already taken meme NFTs to incomprehensible heights, the Space Shibas team plan to do it again with the beloved Shiba.

“We have a clear observable history of understanding the nuance of derivative meme art culture and monetizing it, the likes of which almost no other project in the space can compare themselves to,” said the Space Shibas team. “We are committed to doing what we have done historically: creating insane value from memetic NFTs, and we will succeed.”

While Space Shibas is a project that is engineered to pique the interests of NFT collectors, art lovers, and dog lovers, holders of the Dogecoin cryptocurrency are sure to find their attention on the project. The project will operate as a community curated DAO to architect a new meme economy based on the popular Shibas meme. Once all the Space Shibas are minted, the NFT will start to accrue $SPACEBONES at a rate of one $SPACEBONE daily. Holders will be required to burn their $SPACEBONES token to have their original Space Shibas card accepted for the community playing card game. The top 25 holders will then act as the governing body to ensure consistent and authentic collection.

The Space Shibas team are optimistic about building a large community that loves the art and their Shibas. “We want to build an ecosystem where people can create their own art and share it with the community as well,” they said.
