As NFTs continue to rise in popularity and prominence, artists are also given more opportunities to showcase their talents through what many refer to as blockchain art. But Natalie Silva wanted to go beyond merely creating NFT art but to create a community of artists who share the same passion for digital art. Hence, the artist is launching ArtZeit, a platform where artists can come together and create NFTs inspired by anything under the sun.
Blockchain art is still a relatively new industry, and there are not many communities in existence catering specifically to artists who create NFTs. ArtZeit aims to be one of the pioneers to give artists their own united space regardless of where they are located in the physical world. Natalie Silva has been working on NFTs for over two years now, and she wanted to drive her passion for NFTs further by gathering others who share the same love for art as herself.
Natalie Silva began venturing into the NFT space at the very beginning of COVID, thinking about how she could communicate with others. While computers and Zoom provided her with answers to her need for connecting with others, it was ultimately the intimate relationship she shared with her niece that got her going even amid the challenging times.
“As an artist, it was compelling for me to communicate with her,” Natalie Silva shared. She wanted to find a form of communication that would enable both herself and her niece to reciprocate messages and learn from each other. Immediately, NFTs came to her mind, how digital art can speak a thousand words. As an artist, she wanted to create a community where artists could showcase their work and receive support from like-minded individuals.
ArtZeit, which translates to time of art, is a platform for the new artistic expression in a new time. It celebrates digital art and how it has evolved into a whole new industry involving blockchain technology and cryptocurrency.
Asked if she came across any challenges while building ArtZeit, Natalie Silva shared that it was most challenging to work with blockchain technology for someone like herself who did not have prior experience with it. “There have been difficulties with registering the site and the laws involved. It was more complex than I imagined in the beginning,” she shared. Nonetheless, Natalie Silva and her team were able to push through and were able to gain registrations in various parts of the world, including Europe and the United States.
As she prepares to launch ArtZeit fully out into the world, Natalie Silva also announces that her art will be evolving to fully engage NFTs. ArtZeit is built for everyone, and she wants the platform to feel as welcoming as possible for artists like herself who also want to shift their focus towards blockchain art.
All while building ArtZeit, Natalie Silva witnessed how vast the community of aspiring blockchain artists is. With a variety of blockchain technologies also rising to the occasion, the artist shared that she anticipates many more digital artists to also join the wave as blockchain technology offers artists freedom and data protection like no other. ArtZeit’s website will be available soon.
