Tech giant Apple announced that it would launch new devices in its California Headquarters this September 7. Tech-savvy individuals are on the lookout as Apple plans to release another batch of iPhones. Since 2012, the company has been releasing smartphone models every September; this year is no exception.
Due to the pandemic, Apple has been announcing its devices using prerecorded videos. However, this year would be different as the company prepares for an in-person setup. The media and a plethora of tech geeks would be invited to the headquarters for the event, while others would be able to watch the launch through an online event accessed via the Apple website or YouTube.
Apple has always garnered the attention of the world during this period. September is somewhat a signature event for Apple that draws millions at the least. The hype-filled September event of the leading technology company is a cause for the increased revenue during the last three months of every year.
‘Far out’ is the tagline chosen by Apple. There are many speculations on what this could entail. Others believe it might refer to the company’s camera upgrade, including night-sky photographic features.
Typically, iPhones and Apple Watches are released each year. New versions of the iPads and Macs will follow a month later. So as August slips away, tech enthusiasts have been eyes and ears for possible surprises that Apple might have in store for its potential buyers.
Four new versions of the iPhone
After the 2021 iPhone 13, Apple is expected to release a new line of smartphones, the iPhone 14. According to analysts, the company might have dropped the ‘mini’ models and would be sticking to the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screen, which is the standard size of Apple’s iPhone Pro and Pro Max models.
Naturally, the Pro and Pro Max models would be pricier than their other counterparts. Bloomberg News and Apple Watchers predict that newer features will be added to the coming models.
Later versions of the iPhone had a notch found on the upper part of the phone that houses the FaceID sensor and the camera. This year, Apple may be ditching the space paving the way for a larger screen and an almost bezel-less display. Moreover, the Pro models of the iPhone 14 would possibly be equipped with the A16 processor and cameras with larger bumps.
An even newer feature, but not new to Android phones, is the always-on display that reveals the time and weather. This might just be added to the iPhone 14 as Apple beta tests suggest that the company tried adding a new widget to its display.
Meanwhile, the price of the iPhones would still see the usual range, around $699 to $1099. But, of course, this range is subject to change since Apple has yet to announce its devices’ pricing during the September launch.
The iOS 16
Apple’s operating system would be upgraded to iOS 16. The company tested the system last June and has undergone system checks and improvements over the summer. Older iPhone models will still get the update.
iOS 16 users could enjoy new features like the customization of the iPhone lock that allows owners to pick and choose widgets that would appear on the screen, like weather, calendar, appointments, and other information. Users could change the font for the lock screen clock for the first time.
Further, iMessages could now be edited and unsent at a given period. This makes it convenient for people who always make mistakes in sending out an important message, or a love confession for that matter.
Unfortunately, Apple said that the iOS for their iPads would ship after the September event, which means that the release for the new iPads and Macs would not be done at the same time as the iPhones and Apple Watch. However, the company is picking up pace in the finalization of their other devices as they have already teased a possible Mac Pro in the spring.
